Sticky/tacky cargo net on my F31 Wagon

Hi All,
I bought my F31 (comes with standard extended cargo cover & net) in 2013. Recently, the fabric part of the cargo cover & partition net became sticky/tacky. (It's the part #1 & #2 in the attached picture.) Never used any cleaner on these parts before. I believe it's not normal and will report it to the dealer with my next service.
Has anyone experienced the same problem before?

hasn't happened to me yet.. I've had 2 wagons so far an E91 and now an F31. The only thing I can think about is an accidental spill by a kid in the back seat while the cover was pulled and then when it retracted it spread through the rest of the cover .. I would just use a wet soft cloth and wipe it clean.

I received the car without one and was quoted a little over 1000 usd new. I ended up finding one on eBay used for about 34 euros from Germany. If it bothers you would advice to take a look online.

Thanks for your comments.
I do know not to use any kind of "cleaner" on it. Because anything other than water may cause unexpected chemical reaction to the material and damage it.
In fact, I NEVER clean/wipe it for the past 2.5 years! For 99 percent of time, I was the only person on my car. So, I'm pretty sure there was nothing spilled on it before.
Will update if I receive any information from the dealer.
