335d kicking when accelerating

Just got a used 335d xDrive (90t km) and when accelerating (most noticeable in 2,3 and 4 gear), I feel shudders every few hundred RPMs. Don't know how to explain it, but I feel some kind of a kick every few hundred RPMs. It's easiest to feel it when in manual and reving through whole gear. Car is accelerating fine and I don't see any other symptoms.

Any idea what it may be?

How long has it been since the car got new plugs, coils, and a carbon valve cleaning?

I would start by investigating those. If they haven't been done or you don't know how longs its been, do it now to establish a baseline. If this doesn't fix it, someone more knowledgeable about the diesel engines will have to chime in.

transfer case. Our's drove fine at light throttle but when you floored it there was a knocking that felt like the worst shifting transmission ever.

plugs/coils on a diesel?

my old 335d did that around 45k miles and it was a problem with the transmission. ended up traded it in for a new 328d wagon before it got worse.

lol, diesels dont have plugs and coils. My only real guess would be injectors.
