Yeah...pricing on that makes me LOL. Also makes me wonder why anyone who would spend that much on an intake didn't just buy an M3/4.
After going back and forth and just wanting to scratch the itch of having an intake, I ordered an aFe. Should have it installed by the weekend. The second I feel the first hiccup though, it will be in the for sale section. |

been running an Injen intake for several days, prob close to 250 miles. CEL came on day 2. Has not gone off since. Other than the new PPK no mods. If CEL doesn't disappear in a few more days I may just get rid of it.
Makes a LOT more noise IMO than PPK intake. |

If you have a '14 you should be able to get a refund since Injen doesn't officially have an intake for the '14 yet.

This really is discouraging from what I've been reading so far, that JB4 with an aftermarket intake will cause issues. You would think they would play nice together. Hope someone figures out how to make it work soon.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I am about in install JB stage 1. So far I have AFE intake (sealed, not open) and scoop and ER FMIC. The car runs great. Has anyone tried stage 1 with AFE intake?

Good thing i did not read this till now....
Just got my 2014 428i and picked up the injen intake from a forum member who installed it for me. The thing is awesome so far with no issues. Today is only day 2 however. Future performance mods are exhaust only (down pipe and muffler).
So far i can say the car feel like it pulls harder in comfort and is much more spry in sport. The sound is louder for sure. At first i thought i was dragging something on the floor and then noticed it was the intake sound. Kinda annoying but for sure sounds mean. Probably not for conservative tuners. |

I have BMS intake and Stage 1 n55. Things I have noticed:
with the intake I get much lower MPG like 2-3 mpg lower overall. Part of it is due to the cold front but definitely made a difference. I didn't drive harder with the intake either for test purposes. The sound is great, whooshing sound during throttle and you can hear the turbo spool and great blow off valve type noise after you get off the gas quickly. No rough idles, no noticeable butt dyno differences either. When I added the Stage 1 n55 from burger I noticed a few annoyances: Sometimes rough idle for a 30 seconds on startup in cold, would go away quickly. The idle kinda like a buzzing sound shakes the hood a bit, very noticeable if you are in the car during normal idles. sometimes during gear shifts/when the car hits 3k rpm in EARLY driving (before the car has warmed up) the car will kinda hiccup. It kinda feels like the software is adjusting to boost levels like it's realizing oh JB software run more boost. However, after the car has been warmed up, I've never experienced any hiccups. I try to drive it lightly out of the gate. I have no CELs or other noticeable problems. Butt dyno tells me the powerband is much more broad and car really moves in Sport mode. Will probably upgrade to JB4 stg 2 with Downpipe eventually. |

Jchan112, Earthmaster, where do you put the JB box? I think emission is fine, but want to hide it to pass smog visual. Probably need to re-install the stock intake before going in.
Earthmaster, a few threads mentioned problem with BMS intake. Have you tried stock intake? |

And get ursrlf an OBD reader now that he tuned. It comes in handy. I'm sure he gonna experience more of those CELs sorry to say but it's gonna be little shit like misfires due to sparkplugs extra. Can't believe dinan is going piggyback! Wth!! Did bmw phase out tuning via OBD ?! Ppl need to stop being scared and install the BMS tunes that literally take minutes to remove and give u way more power for half the price! I hated my dinan after buying Cobb. Biggest waste of 1700
