Would a BMS tune work on a non-US factory detuned 328i?
Hello from Thailand,
I'm in a process of getting a local spec F30 328i which is detuned to 218hp @ 4700rpm to meet the lower automobile tax rate we have here (220hp is the limit). However the torque figure is the same as EU/USDM cars. My question is, would the BMS Stage 1 or 2 work with a detuned factory ecu? Thanks. Mark

No clue. I'm guessing Berger would need to do a special map since the input values for boost are likely altered from a standard 328. The 320i map might also be an option. Your best bet will be to post something on the BMS boards so that Terry might see it and respond.

I think this is basically the same idea about the 125i which is detuned of the 28i and someone here on this forum has a 125i with st.2 but you sure want to contact BMS and ask them

Unfortunately, the local tuners here only can do custom tunes for Japanese cars and older European cars.
BTW, thanks for the responses. Last edited by IS2000; 04-22-2014 at 10:38 PM.. Reason: added information |
