Online widgets not connecting anymore

Don't know if this has been asked before as I did a search and came up empty.
Anyway, I used to be able to go to Online widgets and display the time and weather. A few weeks ago, it just say cannot connect or no connection available or something.
I know I read somewhere they are getting rid of 3g network and the cars have them? As such, there is no way of getting that feature back?

I think there was an issue with ifttt.com.

I suggest you go back and make sure your userid/password still works. Then, check your recipes.

Do you need connected drive subscription to have it working?

My subscription is supposed to be up to 5 years and its only been 3.

I'm having a similar issue. I just got the car a few weeks ago (CPO 2014), but i was definitely able to use online widgets (i tested each one out). Now whenever i try, i get 'no service' error. If i try that on the split screen, i still get the error but the weather eventually pops up once i back out of the error screen. This seems to have started about 2 weeks ago.

Again I just got the car and am not sure if the subscription expired or theres an error or what

I haven't used that feature for a while, but it has always been prone to going down for days at a time. The blackouts are regional too.
