Presumably if someone can get a DVD to work from the head unit (while the car is stationary) we could be on to something!
there is no cd/dvd player in the trunk. the disc goes in the head unit.

Just once. If you insert the CD again it will disable. You can keep enabling or disabling unlimited times

For this the vehicle has to be present at the shop. With dvdinmotion cd you just download the file and burn to cd.

Seeing how they are located in Anaheim, I think I'm going to have to get the CD instead lol

btw, if you're going to order from the dvdinmotion.com website, I guess it's better to pay in Euro's since that saves you like 10-12 bucks thanks to the dollar/euro rates lol.

Either that, or we should buy in bulk xD

Thanks for trying. Kind of sad that quite a few now have to forego on this option.. hopefully it will work on my navi though

Just google it, believe me you'll find it. I'd give you the link but I didn't memorize it.

It was actually in another bmw forum group. As far as I know, not VIN specific. You can PM me if you like, and I can see if I have the link in my search history at home.

It's not? Hmm.. that is interesting, they advertise it everywhere as VIN specific but if it's not... =D

It is supposedly VIN specific. There is a text file attached to it that contains the VIN. The actual file is a .CIC file so there is no way to open it and see.

Ok, so even if you were to find it on the interweb it wouldn't work for your vehicle. Interesting...

I thought it wasn't. Unfortunately I can't try this stuff for myself yet.

*Edit
The only files I see are

ALLDATA.KWI
LOADING.KWI

My guess is you can change the text file with your VIN # and reburn it.
im sure the hbautorun.sh is a script file I'd like to see its contents if you can post it.

I doubt they would make a new .cic for each persons vin. Im guessing the hbautrun.sh reads in the VIN text file and does the patching.

(I am a programmer)

EDIT: nevermind, I heard horror CIC stories if you mess with their image, or try to run it on a system with a different VIN - its cheap enough just buy

Just noticed they did a group purchase of the DVD in Motion system on the F10 forums (http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=670764) and I'm wondering, are there people here that are interested in doing this for their F30?
