Ok. Your VIN S840A High speed synchronisation.

What is that exactly? Does that mean he has no limiter?

No. It is increased limiter to 155 MPH.

I'll be taking delivery in a few weeks, is this as simple as coding that option in as soon as I get my car?

It should be, but since my 10 hours were up long before E-Sys was even discovered, I never had a chance to try it.

Up to 155 is 840 High Speed Synchronization.

Higher than 155? None.

My F31 328d arrives next week. Can I check to see how many hours are on my DME when I take delivery? I plan to try coding this either at the dealer's or in a nearby parking lot.

There is no way known to query it and see where the hour counter is at.

Man, I'm completely lost here. I figured I could noodle my way through figuring this out without ever having coded before.

I've put 2 hours on the car just picking it up and driving home, I spent last night and this morning just trying to to figure out how to code anything, and now I have to go to work. I'll probably never exceed 100, but I'll forever be just a little bit disappointed I didn't get to do this.

Holy balls of steel. How did it feel? Stable?

I've only been to 140mph in the tuned N54 and it was a world of difference from 120MPH, so I can't even imagine what 160 feels like. It would make cars going 100 look like they were standing still...

We tried everything, and got no where.
Can the 155mph speed limiter be removed via coding if the DME has less that 10 hours on it? Or is that only for people to go from the 130mph limit to 155mph limit? Thank you

With DME under 10 hours, the speed limiter should be able to be removed from any car, regardless if it factory limited to 130 or 155 mph.

It should be the VMAXX setting. I don't recall what the dropdown choices were to set it at.

Shawn, has anyone tried updating this code after getting their car back from the dealer with the latest firmware?

The 10 hour clock does not reset after DME is programmed by dealer, if that is what your are asking.

Hey I know this is an old thread but I am interested in your post - hopefully you see this response.

First off - when you say "we have tried everything", do you work at a dealership
or a tuning shop and therefore have all the equipment, instruction, and other resources that a dealership's service people would have?

I drive a 2013 335i and did European Delivery. I didn't notice until after my break-in period, while I was on the autobahn driving from the Nurburgring to Prague, that my car is limited too low (210km/h).

I mentioned this to the dealer immediately via email on that day and when the car came back I took it to the dealership and was told they fixed it. Well on a recent track day I realized that was bullsht, they lied to me, it was not fixed.

So if this was an error made in the factory when my car was built, what you're saying is that it cannot be rectified? I guess if you truly only have 10 hours to find out, then it will be nigh impossible to catch this in time unless someone ignores the break-in period, right?

Thanks

If you didn't order it with the high speed option, which dictates a number of additions including high speed tires, then the factory didn't make a mistake.

Hi, and what about add S840 to VO, then upgrade then DME to higher version? The same procedure when deleting POWER REDUCTION. Any thoughts ?
