Would get it for the car, not the residual.

If your leasing, your payments will be more for a similarly priced BMW. If you're financing, you lose more equity. That's all I'm saying.

Otherwise if you want something new-ish but save a few bucks is HIGHLY encourage you to look for a 2015 exec demo with a few thousand miles on it. Can lease it and same thing if you don't want to keep it long term give it back and have a warranty the whole time. My gf is currently driving a $50k 3 diesel I got her w like 8k miles on it, leased it for $375 a month nothing down.
Is there a difference between a regular demo and an exec demo?

Just a follow up to this if anyone else is interested.

Again 36 month lease invoice $64k. Monthly $610

Bmwfs Wants $40.5k to buyout....highest price of any 2013 3 Series I can find in USA.

Will sell to Dealer at $34.5k

Stopped by Carmax today and got OFFER TO BUY at $27k. As I stated, $25-$27 was what I thought it worth.

Took it by Dealer. He agreed he wouldn't take it for $34.5 and BMWFS would send it to auction.

Looked at Mannheim listings and AH3 recently had sold for $20k-$24.9 Nationwide at auction recently.

Stated he thought Carmax was within $1k of what it would go for as my car had such lower mileage.

Also stated hybrids losing major value with low gas prices (not a surprise).

But again, if BMWFS thinks I will pay $40.5k or a Dealer will pay $34.5k, good luck with that at the Auction.

Also said that there might be Dealers who might bid it up to $30 as they all have so many returned F30s with stop sales that have been returned because of the airbag recalls. Says about 50% of the f30 lease turn ins cannot be sold because of the recall.

Honestly I don't know why you are fighting this battle. They are not going to take a loss on you.

They are playing statistical percentages. There is a small percentage of customers that WILL pay. Whatever that number is, the averages will net them more profit from that small percentage than the potential losses from letting every single lease holder the option to buy their leased cars at market value. You have to understand that if they let YOU do it, then they have to let EVERYONE do it. Do you know how many millions of dollars they would lose that way? This is the reality, and I don't know why you keep trying to explain away reality. Good luck with your next car. Return this one and hope things go better next time.

People regularly beat the snot out of demos on test drives. Exec demos, at least in theory, are not as abused.

Incorrect, because I will not take the car at that price and neither will the dealer - so they WILL take the loss.

Again, I only posted the follow up as people are asking about buying the lease (or a CPO Lease after 36 months) and showing a real world example - instead of theories and hypothesis.

Like I said twice already: not on you. That's my point.
