I hate glass, it's never perfectly clean!
I've owned my car for 1 year now and I'm pretty sure it's never perfectly clean after a thorough clean.
Can someone explain how to perfectly clean the windshield? This is my process: 1. During foaming process, I use clay towel to clean any gunk. 2. The windshield is never washed/cleaned under the sun/heat. 3. After the car is cleaned, I used Invisible glass with MF cloth to clean it again. Then I use a glass cleaning MF cloth (spraying Invisible glass) on it and finish it off with a clean MF cloth to buff. Here's a photo I took yesterday, and hopefully you can see the lints being stuck on the windshield. I'm guessing it's when I'm buffing, there is heat/static and that is causing the MF lint to stick to the windshield. Am I doing something wrong? |

Use glass cleaner, squeegee it off, then wipe with a microfiber towel. MF towels should never leave lint, if they do you need a better towel.

Is your microfiber a glass specific cloth? I got a package of 3 glass microfiber towels. They have a much tighter weave then a "normal" microfiber towel...very thin. I use 1 towel with my glass cleaner. Then I buff the window with one of the other DRY glass microfiber towels. It works really well but the buffing stage is the key. You have to get in there with the dry towel and give it a buff.

Believe it or not, the old trick of buffing windows with newspaper really works
I clean out of sun with Invisible Glass, wipe with window specific mf towel, then if I am so inclined - finish up with newspaper buff for perfection One thing I noticed is that after an application of Aquapel, it is very hard to get windows to not streak when cleaning

The key with Aquapel is to buff it enough immediately after application to eliminate the streaks that it creates. I find that it sheds water so well that after I squeegee it takes minimal wiping to get rid of any remaining streaks.

Ok so the issue for me is not streaks, I don't get streaks but instead lint. I might buy a new batch of MF cloths but I'm surprised because I didn't go cheap with the MF towels!

Here is what I do.
Exterior: Soap -> rinse -> clay bar with detail spray as lube -> rinse -> dry -> adams glass cleaner (doesn't streak/ no oily residue left behind) with a Rag Company Navy Blue Waffle Weave towel (yes this exact towel, its unreal how good it is for glass). Interior: Glass cleaner wand for corners using adams glass cleaner -> adams glass cleaner and a Rag Company Navy Blue Waffle Weave towel.
