use plasti Dip, the advantage to it is that it is reversible when you make a mistake.
Also get a cardboard or something just to cover the inter cooler It also cost $6-7 a Can.

Should point out that the M grills have 8 slates vs 11 on the original grill. They are also angled for a more aggressive look. You can find pics of my painted stock grills vs M grill here: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=796633 |

Is this really chrome? It looks like plastic to me. In which case you can lightly sand it prior to priming and it should hold up ok...
But doing this right yourself is likely to cost you more than $100. Cost of compressor, gun, primer, paint, top coat, etc etc... $100 ain't that bad. Of course you could go to home depot and do it the cheap way with some can of rustoleum or something... But once you mess the grill up you won't be able to sell it to raise money towards the new one. |

Very much worth it. Get the grill off, sand it until its "unshiny", light coat of primer, black spray paint, finish with clear. should't cost more than $30
