Status changed to 150-but production week is wk35-huh?

anyone have any insight here?... my car's build date was/is a week 35 production--which is 4 weeks out, but this morning per my dealer its in "150"...per him, it means "its non modifiable" at this point....per these boards, 150 means production started....anyone care to share thoughts?

Your car is in production. It'll be done by Aug 11th.

Do you feel silly for making all those posts now?

Ha--no I dont, that was some real time venting going on there with those posts........but like I said my CA says 150 means its " mainly non modifiable"... next to the specs it says "150"....then last thing still says wk 35 2012 .. I saw the sheet in his hand when I was at the dealer a little while ago.... I also read somewhere that 150 does not neccesarily mean its actually in prod...

So...how do you know for sure its in prod, and that it'll be done by 8/11?..

150 means you're in production. The first stage is "picked for daily production pack" as the robots/employees are putting all the pieces together for your car so it can quickly roll through the assembly line.

Usually you'll sit at 150 for 2-6 days while all the parts and pieces are picked.

Based on what myself and others have encountered, it's generally 10 days 150 -> 155.

Call 800 831 1117 and hit 0 to speak to a representative. Tell them your production # and then ask when your vehicle began production. If the vehicle is still 150, they'll be able to give you the date. If it was bumped around/back to 112, they'll tell you the order is in the system but not in production.

I spoke to them yesterday, they said the order was in, but no production date....and spoke to them today, and they said "its in production as of this morning at 10am"...... do they work sundays?...and also if it really is in production, would it make it out of there before they shut down for 2-3 weeks at the end of next week?

Pretty much everyone I've ever read/seen/heard about is 10 days 150-155. The only way to know statuses throughout these next 10 days is to call the 800 # once a day/once every cpl days and ask. Bugging your CA at this point would probably start getting a bit annoying until it hits a boat, since BMW NA can give you the actual production updates (paint shop, assembly, etc.)

It's 2-4 weeks to a boat after it hits 155. Then the boat ride over is 2 weeks. Then another week VPC processing & transportation to Atlanta.

Somewhere between Sep 10th and Sep 21 for delivery is what I'd guess.

Hell no you are not getting that car in October. Even Sep 10 is a lengthy guess.. If things fall well into place it'll be early September (first week of Sep).

I called and pressed 0 to speak to someone.

He said he did not have codes available to him but did have dates.

He said production began yesterday, 8/2/2012.

I am thinking I will have the car by the end of Sept.

Stupid question time:

Just received my VIN yesterday. I take it that the "Track My BMW" section of the website really only shows the current status and does not provide "week of 'x'" info.

Is that only available via phone? I don't want to bug my sales rep, but it would be nice to get some of these details.

As of this morning the 800# now says in production with an estimated compltetion date of Aug 30th... In all of my orders I have never heard of a date 4 weeks out--- seems like this is a week 35 build, and this closure is going to affect it, unless something changes again--- still not sure why it would be a 150 status 4 weeks out.. Gerbs you might have been wrong! Dang it!
