Horrible Rattling Exhaust (mid carriage)
Hi there
Out for a drive today in the 2014 F30 320D sportine when a nasty steel on steel rattling kicked off. Made it to a mechanic and we had a look. They say the corroded bolt in the image is the issue. The whole exhaust was rattling down against a steel bracket amidships. I think a bracket may be missing from The area below the drivers seat? Anyone experienced this and any tips on getting the right fix? Thanks 🙏🏼 |

I had the same issue with my brand new 340, dealer-installed MPPSK.
They had mounted the midpipe slightly wrong and a a screw was touching the heat shield, if I remember correctly. The issue was gone once they corrected the fitment of the midpipe and I've never experienced that problem again.

AA dp installed and (because of slightly different angle) under load, exhaust would make contact with heat shield and x-brace. reclocked dp a little and used a couple small washers on x-brace, zero problems thousands of miles later.
