Drivetrain Malfunction not due to engine or transmission
I currently have a 2015 BMW 320i and got a drivetrain malfunction message yesterday.
The car suddenly lost power with the rpm’s just revving when I pressed the gas. I pulled over and restarted the car and the drivetrain malfunction message popped up. It would let me start the car and the engine ran perfectly normal. But the car didn’t let me switch into any gear other than park. Today I scanned the car and got the error code P062F. I read this could be multiple things. At first I thought it could be my battery as I have been having months of “battery discharge” and the car not starting. But the battery is new and I tested it today and was at 12V. I also know it’s not the transmission because the car is only 93k miles and have had no issues at all. Every engine component is up to maintenance with no issues at all. Every issue that BMW has said on the inspection has been replaced as well. When I try to shift into reverse right before the drivetrain malfunction pops up, it says transmission temp, stop carefully although I have not driven the car. I think it has to do something with the connection to the battery or maybe the PCM but I’m lost right now. |
