Bluetooth audio

Does the F30 328i xDrive not have Bluetooth audio?

I was playing around on my phone and car and just couldn't get the Bluetooth audio to work.

When I click multimedia it only shows me USB or aux....

Yes, but bluetooth audio is standard in the F3x. The extended bluetooth option adds:

Voice control for music and contacts and the Office functionality plus an additional microphone, ability to pair more than one phone and search music library via BT.

Only with iPhone tho. I have the option and the market leader (Android) is totally ignored. Big fail by BMW.

My e90 wasn't...although the brochure said it was.
after arguing with the dealer they said "sorry the brochures are for US spec cars" and offered me a credit for service...sucks.

Bluetooth Audio was not a standard feature on the BMW 3 Series until the 2014 model year.

For all 3 Series 2013 and prior, Bluetooth Audio was an option available in various packages and standalones, namely the Technology Package or the Enhanced Bluetooth option for the F30.

If the OP just purchased a CPO 2012 F30 and it does not have either of those options, he does not have Bluetooth Audio and cannot stream music. If he owns a 2014 model and forward, he needs to play with his settings on both iDrive and the iPhone to get it to work.

Beyond this, there is an option under Telephone > Bluetooth Devices with several checkboxes including Office and Audio. "Audio" must be checked.

Additionally, one cannot plug the phone into the USB port and stream audio via Bluetooth at the same time. iDrive favors the USB connection and disconnects Bluetooth by default when plugged in to the armrest port.

I'm going out to my car in a bit to try this out. Thanks for the tip.

I do have a 2014 model and it's got Bluetooth so lets see if its just a config setting.

work around which I used for a bit until I hard wired it (charge/audio out to the aux-in port); you can buy a USB/BT audio receiver. Just plug into the USB port and run the audio into the aux-in port. Although you do not get to see the audio details on the iDrive.

there are BT 3.0 products with better audio, but this a cheaper BT2.0
http://www.amazon.com/KKmoon-Wireles...audio+receiver

I have a MY13 F30. My dad just picked up a MY14 F30 and it does NOT have BT audio standard also. You have to order the NAV to get it for MY14.

for 2014 you have to have option code 6NS to get stereo bluetooh connection if your build date is between 03/14 and 07/14.
07/14 onwards all cars have stereo bluetooth standard cause BMW canada made navigation standard. except for the 320.

I think BT audio became standard in MY 2015 not 2014. It can be coded.

booo Sales rep told me I had it... sigh...

ok so new question I'm new to this whole coding thing; who do I contact and how do I get it done? Dealership? 3rd party?

I'm in the Toronto area and would prefer to have someone do it in the west end of the city.

they told me yes but when i got the car i only got 4 + subs..

Yes, you are right, my apologies.

The NBT system began to roll out late in 2013 for the 2014 model year but the inclusion of Bluetooth Audio streaming as standard equipment began for the 2015 model year.

Hey that's cool I actually work in Markham/ Thornhill area by Hwy 7 and Leslie.

So the coding any risks to doing that to my car? Any issues with warranty or future maintenance?
