Harman Kardon L7 Adjustable Settings

So I got my car coded and added an adjustablilty control to the L7, instead of all on or all off.

The default is halfway like all the other settings. Anybody know what maxing it out is supposed to do? If I understand the concept, it's similar to Dolby---taking 2 channel stereo and making fake 5.1 and being able to utilize discrete 5.1 and steer it accordingly.

But in the case of Dolby Pro Logic it's either on or off.

I will have to defer to Frogman as he did the coding. But it adds another control to the Tone Settings. A slider for L7 instead of on or off.

HU_CIC / 3000 HMI / L7_SURROUND_CONFIG to aktiv.

This is only available for cars with the HK sound system and is not available on cars equipped with the NU_NBT.

It enables a slider for the L7 surround effect instead of just the check box.

I have no idea if it actually changes anything or not.

Yes I'm still trying to figure out the nuances of it all.

Sucks to hear I can't code that into my 2014 F30 (with NBT).
I'm guessing the slider effects the amount of L7 signal processing and center channel bias.

I activated this on my car yesterday. doesn't give you the option to turn it on and off so I am guess it is always on unless you slide it all the way to the left.

Either way, I slid it all the way to the left, then to the right and didn't notice the difference.

I'm leaving mine on Max for awhile--the default is in the middle. But any changes are subtle. Probably a good thing.
