Congratulation, Rashid. You're lucky you got such a quick turnaround. You ordered yours after mine and I'm still waiting on a prod date as are others on this forum.

My dealer prepped mine overnight. But then again they were eager to get deal done because my car had been at vdc for 2 Weeks and the car took 4 Weeks longer to arrive at vdc than they originally thought so I was in a loaner for 2 Weeks. But I've read other posts where some dealers take a few days because they don't have the Techs staffed on specific days

I guess it depends on your dealer but mine was ready same day, even with the dealer installed options. (M Grill and sport hand brake grip)

I made my first ever BMW purchase last month. I'm pretty excited and obsessive about tracking it.

335i, Sport Line, Imperial Blue, Everest Grey, Alum/Black Accent, Tech Pkg, Prem Sound Pkg, Sports Auto, etc...

May 5: Ordered
May 11: Production Number Received
May 18: Modified Order (removed Cold Weather and added Heated Front/Fold-down Rear Seats. Tried to add Adaptive M Suspension, but it didn't fly.)
May 22: Production Scheduled - No Date

I was told the car would go into production this week and I "should" have it in early July. Based on the time frames posted here, I don't have my hopes up.

I thought I read somewhere that they shutdown for like 4 weeks to get ready for 2013. I could be mistaken but I swear I saw it somewhere.

The order I placed was for MY12 and unless my CA isn't keeping me properly informed it should still be built as such. There are still a few MY12's that need to be built from what I can see, so for the sake of us late comers I hope that's incorrect.

Still no change from code 112 - "Production Scheduled". My dealer can provide no information on the delay or when production will occur. I can deal with delays, but the inability of either BMW or my dealer to provide a reason for why this process is taking so long is frustrating.

I agree. I also ordered in early April, the 7th. I received the production number that day. Since then I have moved to 112, production scheduled but no confirmed production date. CA originally told me 8 weeks, 12 weeks max until delivery.
Here we are 8 and half weeks later and I still do not have a confirmed production date. Also the car is being built in SA and I live in California. That is a month+ travel time. I will be lucky to get my car before August. At that point the MY 2013 will be available in a month. I think I may have to renegotiate the deal, or cancel and get a MY2013.

Did your dealer tell you what build week your production number was for? Did you get a Vehicle Inquiry sheet from the dealer? If not ask for one.

That's strange, I ordered mine April 6th with SA build. I'm in Cali too and the car is on a ship already.

I ordered mine (335i sport) end of March...and all I have to show for it is status 112. Why won't BMW make my car?

I ordered my 335i on March 20th and it did not get built until May 8th. The dealer told me that this was due to the not having any 335i slots left that were allocated to him and he had to trade with another dealer to get me in for a South African build. A German build was out another two months. The car sat in Durban, South Africa for a couple weeks and shipped on May 21st on the Grand Orion.

It is supposed to arrive in the port of Charlotte, SC on June 25th and then at the performance school (where I am picking it up) on the June 26th. Looking at the shipping schedule for the Grand Orion, it doesn't go to Charlotte, so I am assuming it is going to change ships in Bremerhaven to a WWL ship that does go to Charlotte. Looking at WWL schedules, no ships arrive on in Charlotte on the 25th of June, but two do arrive on the 7th and 10th of July. So that is when I am assuming my car makes landfall in the US.

Assuming it takes them a week (or more) to get it ready and time slot for me to pick it up, it is going to be 4 months plus from when I ordered the car to when I actually get it. A far cry from my last BMW that was only 8 weeks from order to pick-up.

At least I am still driving a BMW while I wait.

UPDATE: I learned today that my car is scheduled for production the week of June 18th in Germany. I view that as progress.

How did you find out when and where your car is scheduled for production? All my dealer tells me is that it's still at Status 112 and does not know when or where it will go into production. Is there something on the Vehicle Inquiry report?

If your cars are not built yet cancel and reorder a 2013. You'll make a few thousand more in resale value later.

if your CA does not know then chances are you dont have a car on order as yet. Your CA has control of where your car gets to be built at. Also should know approx when its going in production.

My CA sent me the Design/MSRP page of Vehicle Inquiry Report showing my Production Number and Status 112 (Scheduled for Daily Production Pack) so I'm pretty sure my order is in (also confirmed by Customer Service at BMW USA). My CA is new so I'm thinking he may not know how to find out the Production week and build plant (it wasn't on the VIR Design/MSRP page he sent me). Could the info be on the Status page of the VIR?

Looks like our cars are going through production at the same time. I was informed today my car should enter production within the next 10 days and be completed the week of the 25th.

So - Ordered March 21, began production April 26, completed May 19.

The dealer said three to nine days to get on a ship and a ten to fifteen day shipping transit, two to three days to deliver to the dealer, and one to four days at the dealers - soonest I get it is June 4, more realistic is the week of June 18 - in about a month!

Imperial Blue 335i Sport Line.

Brushed Aluminum trim
BMW Assist including Mobile Office and Bluetooth audio functionality

So now it's June 8 and my car is still waiting to get put on a ship. This is getting frustrating!

Looking at the WW shipping, next ship leaving Durban is the Bess on June 14, arriving Bremerhaven July 5, shifting to the Talisman July 10 and arriving Galveston July 30. 18 weeks from my 21 March order date. The next MOL ship leaving Durban is the Genuine Ace on Jun 16 which will arrive Bremerhaven 11 July and Baltimore 23 July and Jacksonville, FL 26 July - which would be about the same with road transport to Houston, end of July. 18 weeks from order date. Original ETA from the CA was week of May 14! Only 8 weeks off!

Well, after pressing my CA he went and talked to the Sales Manager. Evidently he has a database that shows the status of all his cars including their production week. Looks like I'm scheduled to go into production the week of June 18th in Germany. That should put my vehicle on the Asian King leaving Bremerhaven on July 3rd and arriving at my port on July 26th. Total time span from order placed to receipt of car looks like it will be about 14 weeks.

Finally I got my prod date of June 18 too, after a wait of 6 weeks from my prod # and nearly 10 weeks from my order date. Still haven't got a VID # but I suspect it's a Munich vehicle like others who have just gotten their date.

Ordered 335i on May 4th. Just got the production number on June 11th. Has not started the actual production yet. I should be getting the car around September at this speed
