Good one. I live very close to a park so usually end up walking straight.

Depending on the scenario/situation, the goal is to find a parking space which doesn't attract attention and at the same time safe.

Oh man, back when my daughter was in elementary school we'd park and walk her to the door in the morning then park and wait by the door for her in the afternoon.

We got a completely ridiculous number of door dings from that parking lot. Neither parents nor kids cared about whacking anybody's door.

My parking algorithm and strategy. Its all about reducing the probability to get dinged/scratched by careless people.

1. Always try to search for corner parking spaces so you can overlap half your car in the shaded/lined area and the other half in the parking.
2. If above is not available, look for a curb parking space where only someone can park in front or behind.
3. If above is not available, then try to park on the "right side" of luxury sedans in priority of brand. Park on "right side" because chances are higher that only one person is driving the car most of the time. If you park on the "left side" you have a higher chance of getting dinged/scratched.
4. If above is not available, then park next to luxury coupes (they have larger doors) on the "right side". If "right side" is not available then park on the "left side", be very careful.
5. If above is not available, then park next to smaller well maintained economy cars/coupes in priority of cleanliness/maintenance of that car.
6. Never park next to run down and huge trucks/pickups unless you have to.
7. For underground or parking in buildings (parking structures). Always go to the top or second highest level and applying all the rules from 1 to 6. Exceptions apply for parking spaces with pillars which protect your car on either side.

If everything else fails, then find another area or structure or go back home and come back on another day.. haha!
Excellent advice!

If someone double-parks, can you take a photo and report it to the police/DMV? If the police come up with a mobile app that lets you quickly take a pic and upload, a lot of people will stop doing it (I guess).

I only park like that in the back where I am the only car for miles. The Corvette owner is a tool. He should stop driving his car if he cares so much about it.

/\ Usually solves any parking grievances. Jack any car up from the tires, push where needed. Straighten them out, move them across the lot somewhere, or just move them out to block traffic and call a tow truck. Up to you. All 4 easily fit in the trunk.

You win the prize for best idea ever. I would love to see this happen to someone like that corvette driver, and then have a video of his face when he sees and is like WTF?

Believe me, as soon as I start making some money and have more free time to fuck with people I've thought about making a youtube channel and doing it on a regular basis.

I can't believe how viral this incident has gotten, haha. That is funny they were able to get the owner coming back on video too. That made it even better.

Kind of like this. Not a single car in the lot when I arrived.

I think the other car didn't want to be lonely

+1 here.

I'd also add that I never park on an incline. It increases the chances that someone else's door is overcome by gravity and hits my car. My wife is finally used to me parking a mile away from the mall in my own space....usually with a bunch of other high-end cars that park like me....one space but a long walk away.

Walking is good for you, and in this case, your car too.

Agreed about not parking on an incline. I also like to make sure I park in the high points of grocery store parking lots to avoid errant shopping carts rolling down hill into my car.

Yep the DC delegate in Congress. I like how her aide didn't have the balls to say, "Hey dipshit, it's angled parking." She apparently hit the SUV a few times and probably the MB on the other side. And of course, lied and said she never touched the other cars...must've been someone else.
