I saw a 328 on the road today 2012 but didn't have the AE. I was under the impression no matter you pick halogen or xenon you were getting the AE but i was wrong i guess.

Yes, you only get AE with Xenons. They are standard on the 335i. For the 328i, you need to buy the premium package first. And then add on another $900 to get the Xenon option. Bollocks I know.
