Advice needed - realistic valuation of 435dX drive
Looking to sell my reasonably high spec 435d x drive in Carbon Black (64 plate, July 2014 built and Sept 14 registered). The car has covered 34k miles).
Got this car last year as 'BMW approved used' - service pack active until Sept 2019 (or 50K miles) - In my view, the the car reasonably stands out due to its optional features - 01 previous owner (I am the 2nd owner) Front drivers seat (back rest) and all four 442m alloys in ferric grey replaced recently brand new under warranty by BMW. Key optional features include: Adaptive M Sport suspension. Adaptive headlights with High beam assistant. LED fog lights Heated steering wheel. Seat heating driver/passenger Surround view & reversing assist camera. Harman/Kardon Surround Sound system Navigation system (Professional) Hands-free with USB interface M Sport plus package (Blue Brake Calipers) Ext. mirrors- folding with anti-dazzle. Interior/outside mirror with auto dip Storage compartment package Supplementary 12V sockets (in boot, under the glove box) Exterior parts in vehicle color Sun protection glazing on rear windows Floor mats, velours Interior strips, aluminum hexagon Accent strips, black, high-gloss Photos attached - looking for advice on realistic valuation - similar cars are going for 24 to 25K on Autotrader. Any forum members interested in buying the car please send a message. |

My dilemma is when I search autotrader, I can see 70+ 435d's for sale at present- now, when I consider the mileage, registration year, and most importantly the 'optional extras' (which in my opinion are most important when searching a car), I cant find any similar car for anything less than £27 to £29K.......cars advertised between £21K to £25k are mostly standard Msports with limited optional extras....so, where I am confused is what should be the realistic asking price for my car! anyway looking for different / varying view points here to help me deciding what should be my realistic asking price given recent adjustment to 2nd hand diesel cars' market due to changes to diesel tax and all this negativity around diesels!

The current market will dictate the price, if your in no rush place it in autotrader at the higher price and see if the phone rings. If it does not then you need to reduce.
A year back my missus had an 2010 Audi A3 it was a minter and only 18k mls with the sought after 1.9tdi lump. Cars with about 40k on were fetching 6k and ours valued with 3 sites to an average of 6.5k. I was cheeky and put it up for £7800 and sold it with 2 hrs. |

WBAC are looking at £17500. It's a nice spec car even if a lot the "extras" mentioned are standard. However, it's child murdering diesel and it's almost 4 years old. New circa £50k retail (£40K OTR) so at 3 years you'd expect to see it on a forecourt for half the retail, maximum. Another year older and knock a few grand off if you want to move it. Try WBAC and add a few thousand for your efforts and it should sell. |

Put it on autotrader at an optimistic price If the phone rings excellent.
If not reduce it a bit and see what happens. You can reduce the price but may struggle to increase . Good luck with the sale. Ps worst case scenario and I’ll give you £20 - CASH.
