So, Bored with Audi, what may have you learned from the thread you started? Not quite a full Bavarian sausage, as it appears to have gone way off topic and I am as guilty as the rest.
My advice: Diesel it must be. Go for the 330d M Sport xDrive Saloon or Touring, and load it to the hilt. Don't forget the Individual Leather. It's wonderful. However, if you are willing to wait, possibly 3-6 months, and shell out even more money (looks like an extra £4000, so the Law of Diminishing Returns kicks in) for the 335d version, then do so.

Re: 335i or 330D
I used to have a V8 S5 and have just taken delivery of a 330D Touring which so far I am super impressed with. A great engine with serious mid-range pull and long up changes in Sport mode. The technology in the car is also streets ahead of Audi in my view.

Aldis have an anus for a nose and if this is not enough, have hopeless steering, crap ride, drink oil and fuel like a worn out whore who needs extra stoking and their dealers really piss me off.
I feel much better now.

Thought you'd agree. Really pissed off as I am sick with a chest infection, a streaming cold, a dicky tummy and was supposed to go today to my place in Greece. No chance now.

Hi F30am,
i have learned I am not the only Audi driver who has decided they all drive the same... I am driving a TT at the mo and it drives the same as any other audi!! I am going to order a 330D m sport in EB .. I can't wait for a 335d, the only choice now is Xdrive ?? is it really worth the extra £44 per month on the 3 year deal.

The lease company are taking the p*** with extra for Xdrive, they are therefore assuming it won't have any residual value which I would be pretty certain it will retain its cost and more than likely some more over the RWD models.

Yes you are right about the leasing company.. as when you work it out over three years it covers the cost of the xdrive.. I remember when I ordered the S5 I forgot to add auto.. I did not think I could afford the extra as it was 1.5k .. However when added it made a difference of around £3 as it was more valuable in auto at the end of 3 years than the manual. So I went auto ..
I was fixed on RWD until this morning... more dreaded white stuff, not deep, but enough not to attempt to get my car out of the garage in reverse !!

Try another lease company as they must have different attitudes. I really would have expected Xdrive to add little to the monthlies due to enhanced residuals.
For me Xdrive would be a no brainer to give that extra bit of assurance for the bad weather, others don't care so much but having to abandon my pride and joy after it got stuck somewhere would kill me. Also I need to get to work everyday with no decent public transport therefore I need to be sure I am mobile. |

I did a comparison through my work lease scheme.
Based on a 320D Msport (Pro media) auto as the base spec on 9k per annum Xdrive added £32 per month from Base GT Added £73 per month from base Not too far off...

I'm not sure xDrive is any more desirable. Higher running costs for little benefit. Things to be avoided on a used buy IMO, reflected in residuals.

The price of the lease for 328i drove me to 330d even though not leasing I had a long think about x drive but bottled it last minute and going with winter more and more are looking at bands and they will be reduced in future so I could not justifie the 7 to 10% more fuel for benefit for me when I work from home

People have become so terrified of snow and ice. Next we'll hear that they need Google's permission if they are allowed to have a pooh or even have sex. Don't laugh, it'll happen. I can see it in my looking glass. I can remember many moons ago when many of you were not even an idea in your parents' minds, our weather was pretty awful and it snowed quite heavily even in London. We just got into our cars with skinny tyres and went about our business. In those days the country never came to a halt either. How times have changed. Talk about a Nanny State full of delicate, overweight humanoids who can't think for themselves. Computer says NO, YES, NO. Bugger it, I'm ripping my wheels off and buying some skinny crossply tyres.
