Dang! They slow but at least I have a delivery date now. Monday!

Finally!!

So that is 2 weeks from dealer receipt to customer pickup.

They insisted I lock in a date n time ASAP as they are really busy.

So oct and nov 2012 when they ran the campaign for free servicing must have been good for them.

You have the patience of a saint. I couldn't have waited that long.

We all know how you feel mate!

I had the route open all day at work.

Wait until the boat leaves Fremantle and "goes missing" for a couple of days

Thanks to the OP for this thread. Now that I have a build week, I expect I will be hanging out here more often until I get my VIN and then I will be living here for a month

As I said elsewhere, at least Freo is the first port of call!

Yes, the boat goes missing accross the Bight and pops up just near the Victorian border, mine did anyway.

My car VIN has shown up with Production Date of 16-09-2014, I can see the next ship leaving Durban is tomorrow. What are the chances it would have made its way onto that? Following ship is not until the 06-10-2014. Also for Sydney dealerships, do the cars land in Melbourne and then brought up to Sydney from there or would it be Brisbane?

My experience is that it won't make that ship in time. I may be wrong tho but have purchased a few BTO cars and its longer than that.

Cars for Sydney go to Wollongong and about 2 weeks after that you get the car.

My new 328i was off-loaded in Melbourne on February 22 exactly on schedule. Any idea how long it will take for me to take delivery of it?

Depends on how long it takes to get through customs. Should be two to three weeks tops. Allow a few days for dealer preparation on top of that depending on how busy they are too.

If you're in good with your salesperson, they'll let you know when it's arrived at the dealership and you might be able to check it out before it gets cleaned up and ready for delivery.

Congrats on the pending arrival

Fingers crossed for you now you're on the home stretch, factory orders build a lot of anticipation!

Two weeks from rolling off the ship to you taking delivery is about right, although it can take longer for a number of reasons unfortunately so just be prepared in case.

yeah ive been pleasantly surprised at how quick it has been to be honest - initially i was told late July maybe early August so the fact that things have been moving from one stage to the next has helped the wait as i know something is happening rather than waiting and waiting without knowing anything...!

There's some good information in this thread (http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=680467) but a lot of the Owners Circle items we don't get Down Under so I thought I'd condense it somewhat.

Firstly, you'll need your VIN. Your dealer can provide this around the time the car starts its production run through the factory (build week). This step takes about one week (from body shop, to painting, final assembly and quality checking). The car will then get shipped to either Durban or Port Elizabeth for shipping. I'm presently trying to confirm which port is used and my guess it it'd be Durban, given it's closer distance to Rosslyn.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen manage the shipping, and by going to https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage and inputting your full VIN into the Cargo ID field, you can see what ship your car has been loaded on and some details on it's voyage. http://sagaweb.2wglobal.com/AppSched...pe=generatePDF will give you a list of ships running from SA to Aus over the next few months with forecast docking dates for various ports.

Once you know the ship, you can track it's movements at http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ by searching for the ship by name.

For example - my car is being built this week (body shop entry was 4/6/12), so I'm guessing it might be on the Queen Sapphire at the earliest. I can then figure out roughly when it's due in my city, and then add a a week or two for customs sorting and dealer delivery to get an idea of when I can expect to collect the fob Once it shows up on the WW tracking I'll get even more excited because it take a few more variables away!

Happy tracking everyone
Hi MikeVictor,

I am new to this forum and thanks for all the detail informations to track the car.

Hooray my 330i will be coming into Fremantle Port on 05/11/2015.

Can't wait till it arrives.
