I live in Singapore with rainfall of >2000mm per annual. Water always accumulate at the active rear spoiler area when the drainage holes are stuck with leaves. Mini waterfall...

Doesn't happen with the F31 tailgate.

Garage List
The rear glass and tailgate as a whole on a F31 are far more vertical than the F36, so you don't end up with water pooling on the rear surfaces in the rain.

I personally haven't had much issue with water entering the cabin when opening the rear tailgate on my car, but the possibility definitely did occur to me the first time I opened it after a storm.

This happens on the sedans too. Not really anything they can do about it.

With rain when I open my trunk all the water around the lights spills into the side trays in the trunk.

When it's snowy and I open the trunk to get my brush, the snow falls onto the rear glass and then slides into the trunk.

Have to just live with it I guess
