335i quad exhaust or stick to regular singlets.
Hi all,
So I'm waiting to get my 6MT M-sport F30 and would like your opinion: Should I mod a quad exhaust (e.g. Meisterschaft) which would then require cut-outs in the factory rear diffuser? OR should I mod the singlets exhaust (e.g. Meisterschaft) therefore not requiring a cut-out in case I want to do a take-off when I sell the F30 down the road? Or just get the BMW M Performance Exhaust? |

I dont know which exhaust is better, havent heard either, but i would say stick to the single (dual) pipes that is a signature of the 335i. From a personal taste perspective and it will make selling it simpler. When looking at used cars nothing puts me off more than "unnatural" mods... So with that in mind i would also say go for the oem m sport (assuming u are happy with the sound)

I tested a 335 with the M performance exhaust. It stuck out a little too far and sounded a little too loud for my liking. I'm glad I went with the stock. I did replace the tips with black chrome oem tips though
I agree with the last post. Prefer the single look of the 335. |

It will also probably be easier to include the M-Performance exhaust in the selling price should you go that route since it's OEM hardware.

I have the M performance exhaust and love it. the pipes look and sound great. I agree with several posts above about staying away from the quad.

i'd keep the single exhausts on each side.
i think if you put 4 exhausts and its not an M it looks like you are trying too hard i guess . not sure if theres really a performance benefit to it anyway. |

I decided on the M Performance exhaust and didn't think I would notice it much with windows up. At speed and normal revs you can't hear much from inside, but you do feel and hear it when you push the revs. Definitely adds to the sports car feel.
I do agree with others that say dual pipes look too much like you are trying too hard. I suggest the M performance diffuser to make the 80mm pipes blend better. I posted pics here: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...=796633&page=2 |

Eh...like anything in life, there's a limit until things get silly. I'm not comparing putting quad exhaust to this, but you have to keep things in perspective when you're altering the fundamental appearance of your car

I think the quad pipes would be overlooked by many people who are not familiar with BMW. I still meet people who don't even know what an M car is (they live under the worlds largest and most boring rock). However, I think it is a bit much, to anyone who knows what an M3 is, they are going to be like...poser. I think the look of dual singlets is perfect as is. The customization of it will indeed hurt resale. Just my .02. Do what makes you happy and what matches your style. I say if you go for quad, at least leave the 335i badge on so it doesn't look like your trying to fake an M3 look. Chuckler: (saw a e90 325i the other day, with an M3 hood ) hahaha

I've never really modded before and do not want to go crazy here. I am leaning toward the M-performance exhaust and appreciate the posts from owners whom went that route. I am thinking of buying the M Performance Power Kit which is pending release for the F30 335i (per my local dealer) combined with the M Performance exhaust. Just go with stock. I hate modded exhausts, too attention-whore-y.
It's a lot better to rip around in stealth mode than to putter around and announce your presence everywhere you go. .... though I will admit most modern BMWs are really, really, really quiet, so I can see the temptation |

IMO, intake sound is preferable to exhaust because you really only hear it at WOT; I once owned a VW with a previous-owner installed cone intake and it was nice to have *no* added noise until your foot went all the way to the floor. |
