Phew - Glad to hear that. After a few posts with folk absolutely hating them.
I bet the HKs are fabulous, but I'm a Dad with two very young kids - so it's not like I'm pumping thumping bass through the car - more like medium volume 80s hard rock mixed with the occasional chart album or two. Hopefully I'll enjoy it as you guys are. I'm rarely in the car without my wife n kids so hopefully I'm going to be satisfied with the basic speakers - we have a Golf R32 with the basic speaker setup and that's been fine. I've not had remotely posh speakers in my car for a number of years (I think I had Focal something or others in an Impreza many moons ago). It's good to be old! |

Yip, I was also thinking about HK but after listening to the standard system I was happy, significantly better than my current e87 1 series.
Collecting my new 320i ms port today, can't wait |

Oh I suppose the time when the handover finally finishes, the salesman gets out the car and you drive away... Oh ok, yeah when the engine is all loosened up and you open her up for the first time...

Yeah that's really poor. Faffing around while your car is waiting there. Are you thinking they're using it as a showpiece for other customers - taking them out in it etc?

guys is there any way to track you car production status on website or something like this option? It's available for US customer on BMW website under MY BMW where they can log in and see their car status.

Someone mentioned there wasn't - aside from harrassing your dealer/bmw.
I can see why the US guys have it as they do have a longer lead time to get their cars wrt shipping etc. And from the sounds of it more people buy new cars out there. I've seen lots of people state it's their first bmw ever and they've saved up for it - surely it's alot cheaper to have just bought a second hand one as a 'first ever'...? Unless they're talking about leasing...

Had a sales assistant girl on the phone to me earlier on today, asking what registration plate i would like. As i was driving with out hands free, i could hardly make her out when she started to rattle off the plates.
Told her, just to send me an email, then i can decide once i see them written down. I take it my motor must be in my dealership, or does this part of the process get done before arrival at the dealers ? |

I thought they could assign a plate as soon as they have the chassis number. My dealer wanted to register mine before it was even in the country to hit their quarter numbers, I politely refused.

I did contact dealer, to be informed that that site is for non UK customers. I just wanted to be sure he added an option. I'm sure i have seen some posts on other UK sites where they can view their spec. It may still be in Germany, which there are still a couple of weeks to go untill my proposed delivery date. Hope it's not sitting in dealership waiting for PDI for two weeks. |

I have read online that you could if you wanted have your 13 plate car registered as a 62 plate. DVLA have apparently agreed to this so that car Sales didn't drop due to superstitious buyers - I have no proof that this is true nor have I researched it any further...
My car was at port on Thursday, I have a cherished plate going on so no 13 plate decisions for me. The paperwork is all in hand to have it registered by all accounts. |
