I've been a guinea pig on the boards since I purchased my F30 335i in 2012 and there was little aftermarket support. 4 years later, with mods below, I decided it was time to upgrade the cold side of the turbo.
First impressions: Man I need a tune. Indeed, after getting a retune, all was well. You don't run this turbo without some sort of support. Probably applies to any turbo. After the tune: After a lot of mixed reviews on the Dinantronics, I decided to keep boost low and go back to Enzo for a back end reflash. JB4 was added ultimately to hold boost, and since there is a PWG JB4 out, it made sense to get it all done at once. Guys at Enzo were quick, professional, and able to upload the stacked tune and install the JB4 in no time. I'm happy I went with the smaller turbo of "upgraded" turbos, as there is a small (500 rpm max) amount of lag. After about 2500 rpm is where you start getting a little oomph, and it carries straight through to illegal speeds and rpms. The turbo sound is exhilarating now, the first time I heard it I came back and asked the guys at the shop if there was a leak, or if the Dinan CAI had been installed correctly. Looked at the logs, was hitting full boost and AFRs were fine. She screams like a pig on helium when I floor it! Around town, due to the little lag, i'm definitely in sport more. Will update with Track experience soon. I decided against a Pure 2 for 2 reaons: my home track is Lime Rock, and it's a short, technical course, so high HP won't help there; I didn't want to lose daily driveability; I managed to get everything done for about $3k without a core (price includes turbo, flash, JB4, and installation at the dealership). One note: After examining IATs, and driving back in 96·F weather, upgrade your IC for sure-i'm running an ER IC/DP/CP and those are a must for a larger compressor for sure. Another note: get better brake pads, you'll be hitting triple digits more often than you'd expect. I'd be surprised if I dyno close to 400, but will hopefully find out soon. My best measure for power has been the back straight of Lime Rock. With MPPK, I would hit 116-118. With Enzo 400R/Dinan CAI/ER DP/IC/CP I hit between 122-126mph. If I can hit 130s, which most F80s do, I'll be

No, basically no reason to. Too expensive and the size is well.. you basically get the same performance as a stock turbo ewg setup.. well within a few hp of it. Add the cost of it, everything you need for the install and it's so over priced and that's if you're doing the install yourself, if you pay to have it done and have an xdrive car? Yikes.

We sold a few kits and, the feedback was good but as mentioned, there are better value turbos where you got more for your money.
