Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead
Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
It's a cool place and they say it gets colder
You're bundled up now, wait till you get older
But the meteor men beg to differ
Judging by the hole in the satellite picture
The ice we skate is getting pretty thin
The water's getting warm so you might as well swim
My world's on fire, how about yours?
That's the way I like it and I never get bored
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
All that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show, on get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars
Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas?
I need to get myself away from this place
I said yep what a concept
I could use a little fuel myself
And we could all use a little change
Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go (go!)
You'll never shine if you don't glow
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
And all that glitters is gold

Agree completely.

My schedule's generally packed but I tend to plan/budget around 2-4 HPDEs and 2-4 AutoX per year.

almost all n20 that loosed rods had jb4 and had DP. maybe this combination leads to temporary overboost and engine grenades? Maybe running tune instead of piggyback box that cheats ecu parameters is better way? jb4 does not adjust ignition at high boost and ecu thinks its running stock boost and using stock boost ignition (more advanced) values until detonation sensors say to pull it back. lijiahua790 you have EWG or PWG?

I used JB4, was a Piggyback, now I'm just gonna do full stock engine tune. But still have evolution racewerk Downpipe, charge pipe, intercooler

Time will tell.

At least with JB4 you can select a configuration that makes the JB4 either inactive or just do data-logging.

It depends on tune. 328 is "tuned" 320 (just another numbers in torque limiters), so? But most of guys want everything max - 1.5 bar (or more). And maxed out setups sometimes fail. Espessially being tracked.

P.S. Probably N20 is already fucked from the factory..

The downpipe will allow faster spool and less backpressure stock, better for turbo.

Chargepipe will still break at stock psi.

Intercooler will allow more cooled air.

N20/26 specifically?

Hasn't happened to me yet on the stock N55 after 58,000 miles with track time in there as well.

Both N55 and N20/N26

I had both my chargepipe/TIC chargepipe replaced with ER anodized black. It's for piece of mind. It did allow better airflow and throttle response, engine revs much smoother.

The TIC chargepipe is a rubber hose and it really does compress under boost.

When I saw the plastic chargepipe when it was taken out, I could see and feel how flimsy and restrictive it was, also looked like it was about to crack at the lip on the throttle body side.

Since you track, I would recommend replacing both at the same time as you have to drop Intercooler anyways, it'll feel much smoother and one less thing you'll worry about breaking.

Chances are most don't break but you do see reports of stock ones breaking with some regularity. The stress of thinking the CP is going to break can lead to symptoms similar to high EMT exposure.

Do you have any evidence of N20 charge pipes breaking? I've read stories of N20 diverter valves ripping, but haven't heard any N20 stories of broken charge pipes. I've only heard people parrot the broken charge pipe problem from N54/55 engines and associate it with N20. I'm not saying it hasn't happened, but if you have any links to confirmed stories it would be appreciated.
