Whatever tyre sizes you go for chum, get your suspension geometry checked when you fit them. You've used 4mm of rubber in just over 4 months (5k miles) on all 4 tyres which would suggest to me that there is something wrong bud.

BTW, just for comparison purposes, since new I've done just over 12 k in mine in 8 months, and the rears are currently at 5.8mm and the fronts are 6.3mm.

Hope you get sorted.

I would go for the wider tyres because of your wider rims. The fronts would be within 1.67% and rears 1.06% of your original set up.

Spoke to a garage near me last month who supply me with tyres who did my last lot too, as my tyres are all around 3mm now.

Got a phone call today saying hes got 4 tyres for me, all part worn but a steal.
Normal tyres, not run flats in 235/40/19 and 265/35/19.

Hes got me 2 fronts Continental Sport Contact 5 both with 8mm on them and hes got me 2 rears Michelin Pilot Sports with 7mm.

£220 fitted, bargain!!

No issue at all, you just might want to keep a compressor and a can of gunk in the car like you get with M cars that don't use run flats either.

Have you actually measured these tyres or are you just going off what the garage is saying?

I'd say the tyres you bought were probably less than 7mm if you've gone down to 3mm in only a few months.

Of course I did, and also did with my new set. Took my tread depth tool.

My driving style is shocking lol, same happens on my older cars and my work van lol.

I have just swapped out my run flats. I checked a few fitters everybody wanted me to confirm I had informed my insurance company before they would consider fitting. I am with Aviva I phoned to check, they weren't bothered.

Now have a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on the rear, wow the difference in grip is amazing even in the current cold and greased conditions. No regrets so far and glad I made the switch. Still got 5mm on the fronts, so in a bit of a dilemma what to do, as at that rate they have another 19k miles on them.
