I don't think this is expected behaviour?

Did shut down the engine completely (didn't lock the car though)
I coded once "CAS => TC_STARTLOCK_BRAKE = nicht_aktiv"
One need to push start button twice to start engine.
In fact not very comfortable.

Do you mean after doing the coding above I need to press the engine start button twice instead of the old 'one press' step?

You code as usual

Then to start the engine you need to push twice the start button

I followed the cheat sheet pdf from the first post to code "windows and roof with keyfob" just to test if I got the hang of this coding thing.

F30/X/FEM_BODY/3053/PwMaster/KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB/aktiv (werte = 01)/nichtaktiv (werte = 0)/Closes windows/roof with keyfob (add ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_etc. for mirror closing)

I'm running Esys 3.24.3 and psdzdata 52.3. I followed all the steps exactly but right after I activated the FA or coded FDL (it was one or the other, forgot which) I got a message on the idrive screen saying something about lane assist malfunction or something along those lines and the side view mirrors seemed to readjust themselves simultaneously in the process. Is the cheat sheet not up to date or did I accidentally code the wrong module/function? The car still starts and drives fine but I assume I turned off lane assist instead of turning on the windows and roof close with keyfob. Also what does "add ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_etc. for mirror closing mean"???
You coded the correct items, both ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN and KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB should have been set to "aktiv". Just from my own experience, what happened when you did the coding was normal. When the FEM_BODY is coded, it resets things like mirror position as well as seat memory, so you would need to reposition both and save seat position again.

Good to know! Any idea why I got the malfunction message for lane assist though? I tested the windows and roof and neither of them are closing via keyfob. I did change the werte value to 01 as called for, was I supposed to leave it at 00?

When you changed them from "nicht_aktiv" to "aktiv", it should have made the change for you, no need to change the numerical value. You might need to go back in and change them again so it puts the correct value back in.

As for the error, did it come on and go away, or is it still permanent? Depending on what module is being coded at the time, I have occassionally gotten a Brake malfunction or a Chassis Stabilization error message, but after a minute, they go away.

Thanks roxxor! The error went away almost as quickly as it came on. No errors on dash or anything. I'll go back and change the werte value but I guess the cheat sheet is a little misleading because it does say the new value should reflect "aktiv and werte=01"

The build date of the car is irrelevant. What matters only is that the PSdZData version being used is >= to the last version of ISTA/P used to program the car. If you use the latest PSdZData, then you don't have to worry about it. Otherwise, you will need to read I-Step current from VCM, cross-reference it to the ISTA/P version, and determine if your PSdZData version is >= to it.
