Issues with coding

Hey guys, forum member came to me to get his larger nav screen coded but the car was not playing nice with Bimmercode

HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

Was coded with the new screen but it kept failing. Tried to restore it back but that didn't work. We installed the old smaller screen, restore didn't work so we disconnected the battery for a few min. After the battery reset the radio buttons did not work. All fuses were checked and checked out fine. Looks like a lot of the settings on the headunit screen are gone (sports display, etc). Also the passenger airbag light came on which I cleared but I'm baffled why it even came on.

Any idea why this is happening and what can be done? Vgate Icar2 WIFI was used. Car is 2017 330i sport package

Jake was kindly working on my car, so I want to add a few probs.
-No parking cameras
-No TPMS
-No radio
-The clock will not stay set, but the date will.

Do you have access to ISTA+/Rheingold? You can use Rheingold to identify the errors and generate/run a test plan to try to fix things.

I think you may have to use both E-sys (VO/FDL Coding) and Rheingold to get your car back to factory (starting point).

I wouldn't code anything over WiFi, it's just not stable enough. Maybe it wasn't the issue, but I would recommend coding only via an ethernet cable + ENET adapter.

Coding over wifi is fine, though unless you have ICOM, not many wifi ENET.

I would not recommend programming over ICOM.

If you mean via Bimmercode, then I would recommend user has E-sys ready if things go wrong.

Did you try contacting the support department (Stephen Gauch) in bimmercode?
I had issues before and contacted then and they quickly responded and sorted out the issue.

Jake has a call in to Bimmercodes, & I am going to try to make time to learn Esys. Will keep begging for help here also....

The car works fine except that with no radio I had to listen, I mean speak with, my wife for the 5-6 hr trip to & from the mountains.

Interesting naming scheme.
I bought the iCar 2 thinking it was the newer version. It also has a more modern look.
The iCar Pro looked more dated and more expensive.... welp. lost $5 in return fees but no biggie

OK You Muggs,

Went down this morn to see if car had for some reason re-set itself. NOT.
I did the 30sec-vol-knob reset, which does, but the screen & functions were still dead.
So because it is easy, and sort of could be the prob, I switched screens from 2626 (which BMWoem said use) to the 7453(?). EVERYTHING, IN THE WHOLE CAR, WORKS! I even get the Rolls Royce start pics & chimes! Radio, TPMS, PDC, mirrors fold with FOB... all good.
So why? I switched the screen from a 2626 to the 7453. I tried an older 2248, and all worked. I did not put the 2626 back in to see if it would kill everything!

Hi fellas, Ive been following this thread for months now ( Before buying my car) and have planned to retrofit the 8.8'' screen since i first decided to buy the car, its a 2015 X435D with HU_entrynav.
I bought my first 8.8 '' screen off the Bay part:- 6822625 fitted and coded with ESYS -HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480
HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

and had 'No signal'
I sent this screen back and bought another (same part no) and it did the same- No signal. Have any of you seen this before? any advise would be appreciated.

By the change from NBT to NBTEvo (07/2015) the output voltage from HU to Display changed from 12V to 9V.
NBT Evo has a smaller output voltage.
The display with the number 6822625 was produced from 03/2016.
So it probably needs a smaller voltage than your head unit will output.
So you can put a voltage converter between it or buy the right display (e.g. 9292248).
