I do find it weird that BMW and Meisterschaft are changing their exhaust systems just because the car model is not the same anymore.
It's kind of like they're messing with us and raising the prices for nothing more than they could offer with the E9X series...

To me: Same engine = every aftermarket manufacturer (or BMW for that matter) should keep the same setup...
The car is a different size and the underbody likely has different obstacles for the exhaust to fit around. Plus, at least on the 135i when they went from N54 to N55, the exhaust was designed so most N54 exhaust systems would bolt right up to the new N55 cars and BMW sold the same Performance exhaust for both engines. It's possible that they are now free to design the exhaust differently without having to worry about this.

The fact is this, if they could sell you the exact same exhaust as before they would obviously have done that because it would be cheaper for them. Since they spent money developing an entirely new exhaust system, you can be sure that there was no way for them to avoid it.

I heard the exhaust when BMW brought a M Performance car to our dealership to show a couple months ago. I think it sounds great but I like the e90/92/93 exhaust system better. Just my opinion. Congrats to the OP. Beautiful car you have.

Its a new exhaust. Give it couple weeks then it will sound richer as it settles.

It's the same engine === same exhaust note!
Not the same engine. The 2012 has a n55 the e92 has the n54 engine.

Same engine different frame... That means longer piping and different bends. Basically a completely different exhaust.
