Is there a post that has revealing photo's? OR is this based on the spy-shots? Camouflage does a lot to conceal how a car looks...

Overhangs will be no longer than the E92 coupe. See test mule comparison photos below. Early stage camouflaged cars have bulky cladding in front and rear which adds a bit to their length, giving the impression of longer-than-actual overhangs. But comparing the E92 coupe test mule to the F32 mule, you can see that the F32 won't get any longer overhangs.

Because of the controversy that will launch with this car. The prototypes have underneath the camouflage, vacumned plastic sheets and foam moulds that hide the overall details, it makes the car look fatter and chunkier when underneath it combines the sportier profile of the E92 with the elegance of the 6er.

The good news is that underneath the disguise lies a very good looking car ,which really enhances the stylish and individual looks of the E92 with modern BMW design language and features but still keeping that individual look which distinguishes it from the 3er Sedan to be classified as the new BMW 4er Coupe And Cabrio.

The sleeker more dynamic roofline will also provide the basis for a very sexy looking four door Gran Coupe model which will bring the sleek sportiness , premium image and ambience of the 6er Gran Coupe to the Premium entry sports segment.

now, that is one sexy BMW composite you have there. I like the direction that BMW has been going now. The cars look stunning and will make me stick with the brand for many years to come. Now the hard part will be wanting to get rid of my E36 coupe. I may just keep it as a momento as my very first BMW purchase. However, my wife disagree's and wants me to replace it with something newer at some point in the future. :-)

I can't wait for the official unveiling. Only then will I be able to decide whether or not I like it vs the E92.

I'm not 100% sure, but something seems OFF at the rear ! The trunk is too short and the roof extends too much to the rear. The rear end looks "bulky" and not svelte. I hope this will not be a flop !

I expect the new coupe will take a lot of styling cues from the sedan, increase in size in all dimensions versus the E92, be somewhat evolutionary and possibly sport yet another new interior.

Yes, he's referring to this car becoming the new 4 (4er) series.

To all the haters saying 'mustang' or 'too long', that is OBVIOUSLY a false rear window. They add camo every year, and this year their new sophisticated camo includes a false rear window. Look at the lines, it makes no sense that that is the correct rear window.

That being said, I agree. The E46 M3 was clearly the best looking M3 ever.

Excellent. Glad to hear they are moving forward with this.

Can we expect it to show up in some form or another on the show circuit in late 2014, after the cabrio launches? Or not until 2015?

I like the rendering your post. How close is that to the real thing?

SCOTT - I love you man,... but really? Adjectives like 'sleek' 'premium' 'sportiness' and nouns like 'image' 'ambiance' do NOT bode well for driving enthusiasts. It's a good thing this coupe will not be called a 3 series, since 3 series have traditionally stood for 'sport' 'dynamics' 'driving', etc. Looks to me the coupe lines have been sacrificed for future 'stretched' versions and some sort of 4 door hatch-back GT version.

Your 4 series language indicates (to me) BMW's internal direction w/ this chassis. And frankly I'm turned off, model expansion into confused GT versions and in all likelihood stretched versions for the Chinese has trumped performance and actual driving.

I love my 1M because its description is the precise opposite of your 4 series.

Please tell us performance drivers have something 'sports' 'performance' 'light' and 'aggressive' to look forward to. Perhaps an M2?

I own a 2007 328ci and the new coupe looks totally different and a lot bigger.

Larger front overhang is easily notable. Since the overall balance of the exterior design of E92 is outstanding, the newer version may not really stand out unless it comes with some design magic.

Not any larger overhang than the E92 when it was in prototype form, see http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...0#post11175710

I'm hoping the overly long overhangs are due to the cladding. I was hoping for a shorter, sportier version of the F30 3-series. I remember the Z4 with all its cladding looked a lot larger than what eventuated.

Just got back from the dealership...while getting service performed to my e92 I spoke to one of the CA's about the F32 coupe. The CA said to expect it to be out by the end of the year with EDs available around the same time or beginning of the year. I am confused because I thought it wasn't supposed to come out under the end of next year. Is this all true???
