Really? In Sweden the retailers only have xdrive 328i and 335i. I drove them to try out the msport and adaptive msport chassi. So what I drove was worse than my rwd std chassi?

A DHP equipped XDrive should handle better than a base RWD car as the base and Xdrive have similar softness, the DHP of the Xdrive improving things and making the ride height the same as base RWD.

Don't buy an MSport to drive differently.

I never liked the look of the Non MSport front bumper.

MSport also means additional engine cooling due to extra radiators.

Also means better brakes(just pads in the US), bigger hardware in other countries.

The MSport steering wheel to me is worth it all on it's own.

Question RE new 435i gran coupe

I am ordering my car tomorrow, this will be my 5th BMW 740i, 545i w/sport package, and two 550i both w/sport package, never had the xdrive. My salesman highly recommends it although I have Michelin XIce snows. Should I get xdrive? On my previous 550i's I ordered Integral Active steering and loved it! (so handling is important to me) I live in upstate New York and I am a female conservative driver.
Sooo I don't need the DHP if I do not get the xdrive, correct? BTW I am ordering the Luxury pkg this time!

Thank you so much!

The Luxury package means no ports suspension, if you insist on the Lux, then insist on DHP. If you get Sport or MSport RWD, then DHP is not so required.

+1... DHP is a must for Lux line or x xDrive. In fact I would even suggest DHP with RWD Sport/M Sport as well.

Well, no need to try it - Adaptive M on RWD is THE way to go. Tro mig, det är värt varje öre och x-drive är överflödigt

It's definitely a personal choice and I don't champion one over the other for anyone, but for me it's very simple when choosing between the two.

I like RWD driving dynamics better than AWD
RWD = better balance
I don't want the extra weight of AWD
I want better MPG
I want the sport suspension
I don't like the height of the AWD vehicles

About to pick up a '13 328i sport line RWD 6MT base suspensionthis week. Coming from an '04 545i sport RWD 6MT and '06 525xi AT. Getting rid of both at the same time.

The xdrive 5 handled like a good large soft sedan. Boring drive with the AT and the engine being down quite a few HP to the 545i. I drove the 525xi in the winter and the 545i in the summer thinking I needed the extra traction. Then decided to get snows on the 545i and have barely touched the 525xi. Obviously the 545i was the perfect handling balance for a large sedan. Not to mention the joy rowing gears with that engine.

I loved the feel of the E90 but it was never big enough for family duties. Now that I am a single dad I decided to drop back to one car. The F30 is big enough and the only MT models are on RWD models (unless you go top range 335i $). MT was mandatory. I am the opposite. The only thing that keeps me awake and engaged when I'm in traffic is to drive a manual.

Curious if it will still be an upgrade in feel and handling? The E60's I had, had quite a bit of boost in the steering. So much lighter and softer than the friends' E90's I drove. The 545i with active steering especially. The 525xi actually felt better but still soft. I didn't even test drive the F30 before buying Silly me to buy without trying. I am assuming it will drive and handle better than my 545i.
