If I do it I'll just go MPPSK without LSD. My dealer is quoting me ~$3300 before tax for parts and labor with stainless tips based on 3.5 hours of install time. Seems steep to me so I might sit out for a bit.
Assuming their labor rate is $150 then that is actually not a bad deal on the parts, like $2,775 vs. MSRP ~$3100 and getbmwparts ~$2700 shipped. I've seen the install instructions and it seems to me that 2hrs is more reasonable for install time though. . .
Works out to $169 per hour. I might try to get them to commit to 2.5 hours but it still feels like a lot of dough to me. This is like 5-6% of the new car cost, which while I want it and can afford it, I'm getting hung up on the principle. Are you all in?

I'm going to hold off and see if others like it and how the dino numbers turn out. Also give it a bit of time to let the whole part number issue shake out and ensure that they dealer isn't going to screw up the ECU part of it.

Me too .. since its only a 10% increase in HP and I'm not super in love w/ the loud exhaust thing I can wait for a good deal when the demand dies down or a dealer offers a great deal..

I think that's the way I'm leaning at this point too.

I'm going for it as soon as I can get confirmation on the part number and get a decent price. I think it's a really cool that BMW is offering an integrated tune/exhaust package, I like the way it sounds, and I think the perf bump is going to be just right for me at this stage in my car's life. I also think the value proposition is in-line with aftermarket alternatives (tune + full exhaust) once you account for warrant considerations. Given all that I'm not going to delay satisfaction over a couple hundred bucks on price.

My sense is we'll get the part number issue sorted out soon, and all will be good. At this point I've gotten contact info for a BMW NA product manager in charge of the M Perf program, and I've let them know dealers are having issues with this. I hope that helps get it cleared up.

Its going cost around 4k including labor....Dealers charge 180/hr for install...and you can't take it to indy mechanic due to the software installs.

Price too high for small output.
If you read his post parts and labor were 3300

I got mine installed over the weekend and it sounds amazing! Based on the prices you guys are getting in 'merica I'm even happier.

I see you have a '16 so you would have had to buy the kit separately. How much did it cost you here here in Canada? I've been quoted $4,200 - $5,000 by different dealers.

Yes I just purchased it. I elected to go with the carbon fiber tips got it installed and rolled into my lease and since I was able to take advantage of the 1.1% lease rate and had it added to my monthly payments. I got 20% off the parts and paid 1.5hrs labour to have it installed. I'll have to look at my bill of sale to give you the exact amount. Unfortunately since it was done at the dealership and not at the port it didn't factor into the residual.

Speaking of garages I live in a condo with underground parking. You should hear the way the sound bounces off all the concrete when I'm driving in and out.

My dealer is quoting $4200 CAD for it. I wish I had them install on delivery and just put it into the car cost. Now it just seems painful when not hidden from my view.

Now I think about it, the $4200 might not include install.....
