Well, my current e90 didn't have them (only major missing option, lol!) and its been ok without them (headlamp washers were also standard on the e90 330d, not so with the F30). But I have added them to my F30, so for me they are now in the must have section

You need to be really careful with that option list, as you get next to nothing back for most things.....

Not sure what you mean "put car out at trade price"?
Do you mean go around lots of car garages asking for a cash price only on your car?

I've always questioned the logic of buying new mainly because of the steep depreciation particularly in year 1. I,m currently thinking about changing to a 3 series but am uncertain as to whether to wait and try and pick up a 6 month old one, or go for a new one and try to negotiate a discount.

Must admith the discounts talked about here do seem attractive, Any thoughts?

If you find anywhere that gives a good discount on a 330d let me know . I think better discounts are to be had on the likes of the 320d.
