Fun with Plasti-Dip!

So one of the other forum members (matt_335Ci) introduced me to Plasti-Dip on Satruday. So I thought Id try it out. This is what occured..........

Found the Color I wanted, RED!!!

Got the car masked off.... and the first coat.

After 4-5 coats, cant remember....

After removing the masking......

The finished product.......

I think the finished product looks awesome and if I dont like it I can just peel it off.

Must be your browser. I see the pictures fine. And amazing job. Don't quite get the last 2 pics, did you use a clear mask around the actual logo instead of paper, or did you just plastidip that whole part and then just cut out the logo from the plastidip?

No need for any close or clear masking around the logo. That is the beauty of Plasti-Dip, it will pull away on the edges when you peel it up. You actually want to give yourself some room to peel it back that's why I left about an inch all the way around. No need for any cutting either. It came off cleaner than described by matt_335Ci or any of the YouTube videos I saw.

did you do anything special when peeling off around the numbers? When you start peeling from the outside, doesn't it start peeling the numbers?

No the cool thing about it is it breaks off at the edge as long as your careful, it was easy to do. The best part about it is if I get sick of it I can just peel it off.

Thanks I think, no I'm just kidding, everyone ha their own opinions and in good with that. I like that it is different from the chrome and my car is a sport line so it matches the red on the interior without being overwhelming.

I like it. It's subtle. It's a hint of red and goes along with the sportline, as you said. And it's reversible if you tire of it. Fast, fun, easy, inexpensive, subtle, unique, reversible...what's not to like?

They do have a personalized plate that is black, but its for the Arizona Cardinals, and Im not a fan of them. If there was just as straight black and white option it would look sweet.

I do need to get rid of the chrome Chapman BMW plate holder tho.
