Hi. It's been a while.
The wagon has the roof box on for a few weeks for various road trips and hauling/errands. I didn't bother to swap the staggered 441Ms on this year. I've been running the 400Ms since last fall. It now transports a family of 4 as of June. I washed it tonight and decided to take a photo. The E30 is running quite nicely. Lots of work put into it in the last year. It appeared in NCC BMW CCA magazine earlier this year. And it's also in the current issue of Grassroots Motorsports Magazine! |

I played around with adjusting color, contrast, etc on some old photos I took:

Admittedly most of my "car time" is dedicated to my E30, but I occasionally will research the F30/F31 platform. Early last week I came across a thread regarding the Timing Chain Bulletin for the N20/N26 engines. My car was potentially affected due to it's 1/2015 build date.
I was due for service soon so I gave my dealership a call to schedule service and have the techs inspect the car. I took the car in this morning and within 45 minutes the service advisor found me and told me my car was indeed affected. They heard the "whining noise" indicative of the issue referenced in the service bulletin. They would be submitting the claim to BMW Corporate to authorize the repair. I'm currently in a White/Tan 330i Xdrive sedan as a loaner. I hope to have my F31 back by the end of the week with the repair completed. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly! Random Thoughts While I was at the dealership I sat in a few cars: - M235i - 430i Grande Coupe (M Sport) - 540i (M Sport) I'm 6'5", so rear passengers (my kids) don't get much room behind my seat. Surprisingly, the 5 series doesn't offer much more in the rear seats with the driver seat adjusted to my specs. I don't fit in the rear seats of the Grande Coupe whatsoever (I'd need at least 3-4 more inches of headroom back there. The M235i fits like a glove and I could potentially fit 2 car seats back there, similar to my setup in the E30. The M235i manual transmissions feels absolutely fantastic. I think I might be in love with the M235i. Last edited by Mike.F31.MSport; 01-29-2018 at 09:39 AM.. |

I got my car back from the dealer this evening. After sending engine audio clips to BMWNA and performing a more thorough inspection they decided the engine is fine and didn't need the TSB work done at this time. While it was there it got a regular service to include an oil change, brake fluid change, topping off fluids, and new wipers all around. I'm glad to have it back!

I took the wagon out for it's first track event. It's an autocross series run during the winter time, aptly named the "Refrigerator Bowl", setup like a time trial at Summit Point Motorsports Park in West VA. I've run plenty of HPDEs at Summit Point over the years, but never in the F31.
It was a VERY VERY VERY wet day, which is why I took the F31 instead of the E30. I was extremely impressed with the car in completely stock form. Just a normal family station wagon. Nothing to see here. (Sliding around at 1:10, 1:30, and 1:45.) |

Your thread is giving me motivation to get work down on my Wagon(non m-sport). Which service center do you to?

Thanks, the rain was actually fun. The car rotated more easily. I may take the wagon back out for a legitimate track day (continuous lapping) sometime in the spring or summer. |

I’ve started searching for a ‘14-‘17 wagon and have enjoyed your posts. I’m definitely looking for M sport, but are there any other options you wish you had gotten or you would recommend? Have you found any wagon forums?
Thanks, Neal VA |

I kind of wish I had optioned the rear window shades. My kids don't like getting sun in their eyes and I don't like having the static cling shades stuck to the windows. Other than that, I'm happy with my choices! I haven't found any wagon specific forums, but there's a fair amount of wagon traffic on this forum. Good luck with your search! |

After 20 years of owning Swedish wagons (SAAB & Volvo), I started searching for my next “new to me” vehicle. I stumbled across a 2015 F31 with nearly every option, including M-Sport package - I LOVE IT!!!
I’ve been browsing the web every day since and found this post... it’s great to see so many fans of wagons! Last edited by db4bmw; 11-10-2018 at 09:15 PM.. |

Not much new with my F31. I put my winter setup on a few weeks ago (square 400M + all seasons). I did a few track days in the E30 this year. I replaced all of the E30 suspension last week. The E30 gets all the attention these days. |

In August the E30 was R3V Car of the Month. I took a few photos for the feature: I attended a few track days as well: More photos and updated located in my thread on R3V: https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=394272 |

4 year ownership bump. Not much new. I had my last "free" service at the dealership (BMW of Sterling) last month and wasn't super happy with it. I haven't been happy with the last few, and despite my feedback they do nothing. I'm still years away from replacing this car, but I won't be replacing this car with a new BMW.
I have 3 years left on my warranty (paid for 7 years, 70K miles at the time of purchase). As long as I don't start having expensive repairs I plan to keep this car for 10+ years. As I have no "free" services left, I plan to start performing the services myself. The F31 is a joy to drive and has enough space for a family of 4. It's a capable substitute for track days for the E30 when the weather isn't agreeable or if I want to give my E30 a break. Here's a photo from some snow we got last week. My only experience with bmw sterling wasnt very good either. But my experience with bmw of rockville was worse, and those are the 2 closest to me unfortunately. So it's a pick your poison type of deal.
