AWD + manual sport sedan
Replacing my 335is in a few months when the lease is up. Requirements for the new car are manual, AWD, and a sedan. I've only considered the 340 at this point, but are there any other cars I should take a look at? Really wish the 435 gran coupe had a manual option. I know the new S4 is losing the manual option. What do you guys think?

It look like the new Audis WILL get a manual but not until later in the cycle. At least that's what I read in the early A4 reviews. But even if true the S versions aren't due until later in the cycle as well.
Really I just went through this, with the additional condition on a NON-BLACK Leather interior. I live in SC and it gets hot here, plus after 16 years in a black leather interior I'd like something else. So I looked everywhere and ended up with the 340i xDrive 6MT, with Venetian - aka Tan - leather. |

Aside from a Subaru STI , there is not much AWD manual cars left. If you would take a hatchback there would be the Golf R and Focus RS. There would be more option but looking at your choices performance seems to be important too.

Yeah I'm sticking to more of sport/luxury types like the 340. I really like the 340 so it's not bad if that's my only option just wanted to know everything I could look at.

The 340i rev matching manual is pretty slick.

Mini Countryman. A friend of mine went thru this earlier this year. There's slim pickings.

Funny how they all claim nobody wants them, but BMW (and Audi also I believe from what I read in the new A4 preview) sell about 10% manual where it's offered.
The main reason I'm waiting for my 340i xDrive is because of the manual availability. Slim pickings indeed. I'm almost here by default. |
