Anybody have any recommendations for cleaning the interior as well as the idrive screen? I'm looking for something that won't make my dashboard and interior glossy (tacky looking to me). I've searched all over and most of them are extremely oily, super glossy, and some can cause discoloration. Luckily i haven't used the product that causes discolorations but friend did, and i feel terrible for him. Any help would be appreciated, i'd like to keep it like new, so i've been using a damp cloth to wipe it down for the moment. Thanks

I use meguiars quick interior detailer since i bought my car in 2013. My interior still looks new.

But I wouldn't touch the iDrive screen with anything but a microfiber cloth, preferably the kind used for cleaning glasses.

+1 on the 303 Automotive Protectant. I use it on everything with the exception of the leather. The bottle reads OK for finished leather but it’s not PH balanced.

For the iDrive screen I use a soft microfiber that I mist with some eye glasses cleaner.

I like to scrub down the interior with a nice soapy wash mitt straight from the bucket, and then follow up with a good power wash finished with a blow dry.

In all seriousness, I use Meguiar's Quick or Ultimate Interior Detailer for the plastic/rubber bits. Gliptone Leather Cleaner followed by Conditioner, although might be overkill for Dakota leather. A good microfiber cloth with lens cleaner for the iDrive display.

I just use 303 UV Protectant Spray and give my interior a quick wipe. Seems to work fine for me.

I use McGuire's all the way. Interior and Exterior. For the inside I use the quick wipes for leather.

I used to use the quick wipes but I noticed it was leaving residue behind. So I switched to the spray with a microfiber to better control how much cleaner is used and haven't had an issue.

Very easy to scratch so Ive stayed off it for the most part. Looking for a product.

Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber care is amazing for the interior. I also use it as tyre dressing and engine bay detailer. Plus it smells great! The perfect all rounder.

Hi-Tech Extra Foamy. Back in the day I used to work at a detailing place and this is what they used (and now what I use). This stuff can be used on everything non metal or glass, including treated or untreated leather (because it also conditions a little) and carpet. I've used it on cars ranging from beat down Corollas to Ferraris. This stuff is the best but you must be careful because it is also strong. I've removed printing from a turn signal stock on a Hummer H2 by spraying directly onto it.

The best way to use it is with two microfiber towels, one very damp and one dry. Shake the crap outta the can and cover the damp microfiber until it's basically dripping with foam (like use a lot a lot) and then mush the microfiber around to get it to absorb everything. Then wipe basically any surface down with the damp and then use the dry microfiber immediately after (otherwise you could get streaking). Usually I do 1/4 of the car (driver door, dash, center console, seat, trim around seat) then wring out the towel then re wet it and spray the cleaner on again.

All in all I swear by this stuff, I think it is better than any Meguires or armorall or Griots product out there.

I went out and got the mcquires since that is mostly what i use for the exterior and I'm glad i did because it came out amazing. I also bought the 303 to try next time i clean the interior. Thank you all for the suggestions!

The best cleaner for your idrive and interior windshield is eyeglasses spray cleaner found at walmart optical. SERIOUSLY streak free and so clear. Better than the numerous automotive specific cleaners i have tried. THE BEST LITTLE HACK I decided on

Armor all actually makes a cleaning wipe that doesn’t have the glossy stuff in it and they’ve served me well

If you park your car in a garage, you don't need anything more than purified or distilled water and a microfiber cloth to clean all the harder surfaces. Stuff like 303 will leave it slightly glossy and greasy feeling. Very few products that advertise being non-greasy or non-shiny actually are (Sonax is one of the only ones I know of).

The only things that need more care are open pore leather like Merino or Nappa leather. Those need a good leather cleaner and conditioner. Conditioning should only be done once a year or so. If done too often, the leather will become slippery and shiny.

If you park outside with a lot of sun, and your side windows aren't tinted, then you might want to use a product with some UV protectant in it. Remember, though, that your windshield is laminated and is thus able to block almost all UV light. Tinting is not necessary on your windshield to block UV.

I have 20% tinted windows all the way around, and park in a garage. And where i live its not the best weather so sun hitting my leather im not too worried about but i do treat it once a year. I use the Mothers leather conditioner and it smells great and comes out perfect. I'm going to try the 303 on a small piece next time i have to clean the interior and if its greasy and glossy like you're saying, i wont be using it again. The greasy feel is the worst and can't stand it!
