Best Intercooler for the f30 335

Hey forum, I'm thinking about going the intercooler route and wanted to see if any of you have Installed one and have recommendations on which one gets the best performance.

Thanks in advance for the help

Krash92 , I suggest ER / Evolution Racewerks FMIC. Used it personally and installed them on my customers car. In fact, I just installed 1 with the chargepipe couple days ago.

If you need to get an honest advice, change the title. This title will turn this thread to a war between fans of different brands.
Evolution Racewerks offers the most popular FMIC for this platform. It is made in the US by a company that has a huge list of top notch products.
The datalogs posted on this intercooler are impressive.
Today is the last day of the March Madness sale on this product btw.

Here's an INDEPENDANT review of the AMBIENT THERMAL MANAGEMENT Intercooler done by someone who has had several other aftermarket intercoolers on his vehicle.

Mostly Daily driving, but occasionally HPDE. I take it to the track a couple times a year.

Stay away from bar and plate then, won't see many gains and unless you run hot on tracks, not worth it.

Couple reviews on the forum were posted. If i remember correctly the intercooler did okay but OP wished he went with the competition instead.

My vote is ER FMIC in Anodized Black!

Yes I have the Wagner Performance FMIC (at least thats what they call it in Europe), I think it performs really well, Peter did a test of it against the Wagner Evo1 Comp and ATM FMIC.

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31479

If you read the review and look at the result the performance model comes out top in my view, comp may have better flow but performance seem to give better IAT's.

In the end Peter opted for the Comp version but I suspect it was mainly down to weight as the performance FMIC is a fair bit heavier, whilst in my view it performs better, perfect for the road in my view.

I did some comparisons against a stock IC.

Stock

Wagner Perf FMIC

Wagner Perf FMIC (even on a multipule pull the Wagner has lower IAT's than one pull with the Stock IC

I think the performance model is more suited to street use as it has lower IAT's, but the comp version offers similar performance and perhaps less pressure loss in a lighter package, is also more expensive.

If you are not maxing out the stock turbo and dont track it a lot for the street the wagner performance is indeed just as good as the wagner competition.

Like Copperman said I opted for the competition due to lower weight, nearly the same iat reduction and slightly better flow. I also have meth for further cooling.

There is no right or wrong here
