Seat & mirror memory vs. remote
How can I determine which of the 2 remotes (fobs) that came with my F34 corresponds to which memory position (1 or 2)?
Seems like it should be a simple question, but the manual is silent. Thanks! |

I asked this very question of a BMW Genius and his response was that EACH key can store 2 memory settings (so for 2 fobs, there would be a total of 4 settings available).
So if you and another driver in your household use one key, you just need to program 1/2 for you and that person. If you each use your own fob, you can have a standard position as well as a "Detroit lean" if you prefer it.... |

I think it senses based on which one you use to unlock the car. Even with Comfort Access, if the key is on you and you are the one that opens the driver's door, it should use your settings.
Otherwise, just setup 1 and 2 with one remote, then do the same thing with the other remote. Then it'll be consistent either way. |

The idrive has profiles for each fob. I was able to give them names. It's easy to figure out what is the first and second fob. There is also a guest profile not assigned to a fob for car settings.

Is it possible to override the car's selection of "profile set"? And is any of this documented anywhere? (Issues like this, the useless iDrive manual, and trying to figure out whether my car is "activated" or not are really taking the lustre off my first few days of BMW ownership.) |

As to your other questions, I am not sure and will have to let someone else try to take a stab at them. |
