F30 / F32 6MT Strength

Does anyone know how much power the 6MT transmission of the F30 335i / F32 435i could hold until it starts to slip? I plan to eventually upgrade turbos and just want to plan the supporting mods that I will need. I have tried searching with no luck.

As far as the tranny goes I think it's fairly strong. If you use LC a lot and bang gears then you have a chance of ruining some synchros. The clutch however is not as strong as the tranny. I can tell you first hand that once the trans and or clutch gets hot enough under FBO territory it will slip. I slipped mine a few times however I was running E85 when I did it and haven't done it in a few months. The weather is getting cooler so that could help. Spec stage 2-2+ would be a good option if you are going to go with a turbo upgrade but don't want to ruin drivability

How does LC on a manual box work?
Put into sport or sport+, slide into 1st gear, hold clutch downs and nail gas, car revs to around 3700rpm and then you dump it and take off

Interesting. What is the traction like?
With my mods.....sometimes something to be desired lol. If you have good tires and mods you usually blow the tires off in 1st and spin going into second and then you are flying. All Stock it works well. I just have a hard time hard launching my car like that. It's not easy on clutch or synchros depending on how aggressive you are shifting.

I will say that if you are in grippy pavement and have good rubber you can get wheel hop which is less then appealing due to no limitedslip

Yes, just hold the clutch down and hold the RPMs at whatever speed you like with your right foot

No it's not adjustable. It maybe lower I don't remember what the exact rpm number is. It's between 3-4k though

You may be able to adjust it with your foot but I find it hard to modulate precisely with the pedal

I haven't been able to find anything in terms of clutch upgrades for this car. Any specific clutch name or brand for the spec stage 2 clutch you mentioned?

A number of people have referenced the 550i clutch being more robust and fitting our engine/tranny.

Spec is the name of the clutch company.
