Likely going to place my new F30 order today...

I've got an appointment with my CA today, so hopefully, it's going to be a great day

Here is what I want to build:

-335i X-Drive Sportline
-6SP
-Mineral Gray
-Tech Package
-HK Sound
-Heated Seats
-Dynamic Handling (maybe..)

-MSRP when built on BMWUSA is $52,420.

I've decided to go Sportline because I just like the exterior look of the car better than the M-Sport (probably not popular here, but that's OK....to each his own ).

Dynamic Handling.....is it worth it? I may consider dropping the HK and doing the DH instead....it's about the same price for either option. If the deal is right, I may keep both. Any advise? I wouldn't call myself an enthusiast or anything, but I am on this board and that has to be mean something....

I'm going to lease with 15K miles/yr. I'm pretty sure I should have some leverage because not only is it the end of the month, but the year as well. Any thing I should ask for to sweeten the deal? Have you guys had them throw in things for you? Maintenance or Service packages? I'm hoping to get about $4M on the equity from my current Mazda3. That should knock out the the money down. After that, I'm hoping to keep my lease payment between $450-500. I think that means getting the purchase price of knocked down to somewhere around $48,000 from the $52,420 MSRP. Does that sound reasonably doable?

Thanks for the input guys....I've learned so much over the last month or two from reading here.

I personally would take the handling over the audio. The stock system is perfectly fine for 99% of the populace.

The car will be beautiful. I'd pass on the x-drive (I had it on the '07 E90 but went RWD on the '09 E90 and '13 F30....just a little more fun in wet and snow), keep the HK and pass on the DHP as it may help get you closer to that $500/mo payment. At 15k/yr I think you're going to be more around $550-$600.

As dhp is the only way to get a sport like suspension on an xdrive don't skip it. Plus you can get a more comfy ride when u want too.

Get both DHP and HK. Consider if you lease you're only paying 40% (or so) of the option.

DHP is worthwhile for anyone expecting typical BMW of 'ole handling/feel. VSS is great at parking/low speed.

HK is a no brainer once you listen to the std stereo. Unless you don't care about sound quality.

Well, I found one on the lot that I ended up liking a lot. It's a different than what I had originally wanted, but I really like it. The dealer really wanted to move it, and I kind of like the idea of picking up the car sooner than later....and not sweating if my order would be delivered within 60 days of promotion expiration. I'll take delivery on Jan 2nd and avoid personal property taxes until December 2014, which is nice.

So here is my first Bimmer ....

328i X-Drive Sport line
Mineral Gray
Sport Auto
Tech package
Premium package
Cold Weather package
Lighting package

The combination of there not being many 335s around (dealer had 24 328s, and 2 335s), and the dealer wanting to move this car at the end of the year is why I decided to go with this 328. Even though the sticker prices between the 335 that I was planning to build and the 328 on the lot is only around $1200, the lease payment difference was $110. And if that 335 didn't make it in time for the promotion cut off, the difference was going to be even greater. I'll miss the engine tune of the 335...probably more than the power of the engine itself. $110 a month is decent money to me....glad to hold onto it.

I was on the fence for awhile on the auto vs the 6SP before leaning on the 6SP side. But it took me awhile to lean that way....So it wasn't like that was the end all be all for me. Besides, I think we can all agree, this is one of the best auto transmissions....not a bad "settle" in my book. And it has the Sport Auto, which makes it even less of an issue.

It's a beautiful car and I can't wait to her pick her up in 10 days. I'll get some pictures up next week. I took a couple, but it was starting to get dark, so they aren't great. I guess it's time to update "what i drive" on my profile.

I ordered mine a week ago Saturday:

2013 335i M-Sport Line Sedan
Mineral Gray
Coral Red Dakota Leather
Aluminum Hexagon Trim
Performance 18" Summer Tires
8AT
Sport Auto Transmission w/Paddle Shifters
Premium Package
Heated Seats

I'm also trying to get the M-Performance black grilles and M-Performance exhaust rolled into the deal if they can be ordered; otherwise, I'll buy them at 20% BMWCCA discount and install them myself.

I'm tempted to get the Dynamic Handling Package, but unsure about whether or not this is just adding something else that will eventually have problems instead of the standard M-Sport suspension. I have a little time yet before I can't change anything, so I need to research whether the dynamic suspension will be worth the extra $1K.

I saw a 328i-XDrive M-Sport in Mineral Gray with the Coral Red interior at my dealer yesterday as well. It is a pretty combination. You'll like it.

I think if you plan to drive the car very aggressively, you would be smart to get the DH package. I like to have fun in my car, but i don't plan on doing much drifting or anything else that would be too aggressive. With the M-Sport, you are already getting a pretty good sport suspension even before adding Dynamic Handling. So I think it's just one of those things where you have to personally decide if it's worth it given the way you drive.

Is it just me, or is BMW advertising this Happier New Year event on the TV like crazy. And every time I see it, I wish it were January 2nd that much more

Yeah, they absolutely are going nuts with this, which is how I managed to get a substantial discount on the car I'm buying - although to get most of it, you have to use BMW Financial. That's ok with me because I have used them for all of my BMWs past and present. I'm getting the dealer discount, loyalty cash, and "BMW Holiday Cash". Hard to beat - did the same thing when we ordered my wife's 128i Convertible.

As for the Dynamic Handling - it "replaces" the M-Sport suspension with what I'm sure is something comparable, but it's "adjustable" from the cockpit, likely similar to the Corvette's magnetic-fluid shocks and such. I do mostly road driving these days, although the roads around me are full of curves and elevation changes, so I like a sport-oriented suspension. I never track anymore, and I'm just wondering how much it'd really add, plus there's no real history yet on how well this DHP holds up over the long run. I plan to keep this car for awhile, and I'm a little old-school, having learned a lot via the "hard way".

Only way to know for sure is to visit your dealer and drive a Sportsline or MSport with and without DHP. Compare. In my subjective eval I feel DHP tightens up car/steering enough to make me not miss my E90 (when in Sport/Sport+ modes).
