Has Anybody in the US had recent luck with an Individual Paint or Interior Request?
Just curious to see if BMWNA/AG is a little more open to Individual requests now that production is well under way.

Not exactly sure what you mean but I ordered my car to spec. I chose every option, color, etc

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...roduction.html As to the OP... I don't recall anyone actually trying, yet, in the US. That could kick a 3er up to $70K without too much effort! |

Last time I heard, individual paint was around $3,500. Not too sure about the cost of an Individual interior. Still dreaming of EBII over Saddle Brown or Everest Grey. |

I don't even know if Individual for the 3er (non ///M) makes much since for BMW to offer. Once you get into the $70K range, the type of person who will go that route is probably more inclined to go up in performance (think M3), or just bump it up another couple of notches for a 5-series or 6-series. |

For more information there's this: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicle...30_EAL_212.pdf I don't know if any of it will come to the US market but it'll give you an idea of what there is.

The Individual catalogue you linked to (thanks) shows their suite of pre-selected individual options, but my understanding is that it's also possible to have them do "one-offs" if it's approved by BMWAG. For example, a friend of mine has a U.S.-spec Dakar Yellow e46 M3 and some ///M owners have had success getting customized stitching colors on their interiors. Need proof? Check out this e90 M3 in Atlantis Blue Metallic... http://www.tuning-links.com/news_708...M3+by+IND.html Or this e90 M3 in Dakar Yellow... http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=741313 |
