i use photobucket and its pants. what is the best place to hosting pictures now?

I use flickr as well, although it's bollox on iPad for copying link.

For posting on forum https://postimages.org is what I always use.

There are a few free ones out there. I've used this in the past....

No sign up needed. Good for forum pics like @teaston posted.
But if you want to keep a library of photos then you'd be better off with flickr
