iOS 8 / iPhone 6/6 Plus

Anyone test iOS 8 or the iPhone 6/6 Plus yet with their NBT based iDrive? Everything appear to be working as expected? Any issues? Seeing anything new?

Seems to work just fine. No change in usability that I could tell.

There does seem to be a bug on the phone/OS itself (unrelated to BMW connectivity and functionality). I can't rearrange songs in my playlists. I try to move a song up or down a playlist and when I hit "Done" to confirm the change, it just goes back to where it was previously.

Anyone else having this issue?

As for the track moving....I didn't even know you could do that before iOS8

Iphone 5 with ios8 and no issues so far.

A problem I used to have actually went away. At times the iphone would jump from my song list into a podcast. Since upgrading to ios8 that hasn't happened.

iPhone 6 plus - music works perfect just as it did with the 5S. When making a phone call through idrive it rings and hangs up as soon as caller answers. Can't recieve calls either. Pretty upset about this

No problems with any Bluetooth functionality. Calls in/out, music, artwork, Siri. It all works.

Haven't tried via cable yet or Connected Apps. This is the smaller 6, not the plus.

I have been using iOS8 on iPhone 5 for MONTHS on the betas. Worked fine, except killed texting. Texts came back with the gold master.

Feel free to ask specific questions and I'd be happy to test

Mine seem to be just fine ( Iphone 5S, IOS8 ) . Blutooth is without any problèm.
Difficulty to install the Iphone 6+ in the armrest ?

Did you enable the feature? By default it's off.

Also it only works if the phone is charging thus rendering the feature mostly useless.

I'm frustrated with BMW. The last Bluetooth software update for my car was released the same year as my cars production date (MY2012). The current version of the software for download is is from 2012 (File: UPD1006.bin).

Why does BMW not update their software more frequently? Am I to buy a new BMW so I can use my iPhone? So much for a close relationship with Apple and BMW.

Frustrated.

I'm having lots of strange Bluetooth connection issues with my iPhone 6 and 2013 f30. Calls frequently disconnect, the idrive phone screen doesn't indicate a call in progress, and sometimes I loose all audio from radio and usb until I kill the Bluetooth connection. I'll see if there is a software update for my car and try that.

Nice work, so GA and last release brought back SMS. Is it fully controlled on iDrive? Can you just hit reply on iDrive instead of using Siri?

My scroll wheel on the steering wheel has stopped working since IOS 8. :-((

It won't work via bluetooth or USB. Phone is an Iphone 5S.

The scroll wheel works just fine with other media sources, including Radio; so, clearly, it is an iphone specific issue.

Anyone else experience this???

Just switched from Android to iPhone 6. I'm not receiving texts in my BMW (but it did work with my Android phone). Any ideas? Thanks. 2014 328i.

You have to enable settings on the device - select bluetooth, click info on the BMW device, and then select "Show Notifications". It will work the next time it syncs to the car.

Fixed my bluetooth connectivity issues with my iPhone 6 and 2013 335. I had to reset all settings and re-pair. I had initially tried reset all network settings but this did not work.

Thanks for the tip, but this did not resolve my issue. I think BMW needs to update their software more frequently.

Just spoke with BMW genius and was advised a massive Bluetooth update will be released by end of October for cars 2010 and newer.

Maybe they will be nice enough to have the car make a noise when a text message comes in, instead of waiting for the little envelope to show up.
