My current desired config would be a 328 sportline with just the tech package and premium audio. If I was to get a 2012, the tech package would be cheaper (and I do not want assist or apps) and the base price would be $1,600 cheaper (split fold down seats, power seats, etc. are all nice but not worth $1,600 to me).

If it was me, I would certainly pass on the premium package and spend the money elsewhere

The Anthracite Wood trim would look nice in the sport line also...but that's extra.

All-in-all, I think BMW did a great job with balancing the new offerings without making the MY12 3ers regret anything I'm absolutely happy with my MY12 and I don't feel taken advantage off or anything. (well, maybe the split-folding seats would've been nice)
I was excited about de-coupling Xenons from the premium package, because the ability to have xenon headlights was the ONLY reason I was considering the premium package...but now it appears that satellite radio isn't an a la carte option anymore, and is only available with the premium package...Sirius is a "must have" for me. Bummer.

EDIT: So, I notice under standard options it lists "693 Satellite radio preparation" so that means the dealer could easily just do the necessary software changes to allow me to use Sirius? (I could care less about the year free subscription, I have been paying annually since 2005)

It is interesting how BMW has bundled some of these together, essentially forcing you to buy the package. For example, I could care less about comfort access, but SAT and lumbar aren't available as separate options??!!

Same with side and top cameras. Not a biggie, but come on BMW!

I'm not thrilled about some of these changes. I'll probably have to price it out to be sure, but it looks like the options that I want will cause a nice price increase on a 335i. I want the tech package, but not BMW Assist. I want the HK stereo and Sirius, but not the premium package. I'd like to keep the automatic high beams which were standard in MY2012, but are not included on the 335i in MY2013.

I've had a 335i on order without a production number since 4/21. Hopefully they get an allocation for a 2012 before the switchover.

So the premium package includes the leather seats, does that mean we don't ve to pay the $1450 for the corral red leather w the M Sport if you get the premium package

BTW, I thought foglights (520) were not goiing to be made available with the M-Sport option (ZMM) due to ventilation concerns. In the notes section, 520 is not deleted with ZMM. Has BMW changed its mind? Did I miss something?

Really need to get the question above answered:

Does "Sat Radio Preparation" (standard item for all models) mean that the stereo is completely ready for broadcast as soon as a Sirius subscription is established, and no other Dealer help/charges are required?

I doubt it. It should be +$1450 if you get ZMM without the premium package (ZPP). ZPP adds $2200 and includes dakota leather. Note, these are 335 prices.

Good catch, I missed that. Must just mean that the premium package includes the 1 year subscription. That's my hope at least.

Good question, if the answer is yes, many pple will find no big reason to get the premium package

guy guys guys! hang on a second here. there is a separate item 609 for just the navigation system? does this mean we can get it on its own now without ordering the whole tech package (or with HUD like before)?

thats exactly what it looks like. then u just get the tech package for 3100 if u want all that plus HUD. That would be awesome if tru!

Yep, including me. I can comfortably drop Comfort Access and Lumbar Support to save $750 ($2,200 for Prem Pkg minus $1,450 for Leather).

Hoping someone can answer the Sat Radio Preparation question definitively. I can't trust the dealer CA's.

ZMM will delete STD or 100% equipment 520

Sounds like they are still being deleted with M-Sport.

The one curious thing is there is no mention of the M-Sport brake upgrade anywhere?

Sorry, but it's there on page 5 at the bottom of the ZMM M Sport Line section:

"ZMM will delete STD or 100% equipment 520 [Foglights]"

maybe they changed their minds and took away the option since it was confusing with the M performance brakes? but ya, thats weird ...

seeing as how m-performance brakes are NOT included in the m-sport, it is mainly just a trim package. i think the steering wheel is cool, it gets u access to estoril blue 2, but otherwise all cosmetic..

I guess you can get the staggered 255s on 18s which is nice and performance tires.

count me out on the m-sport. it seems similar to getting a s-line pkg on an audi. i will wait for something with more "real" changes, like an M335i if I can't spring for a genuine M3.

For leasing, your cost of ownership doesn't change regardless it is a MY2012 or MY2013. For buying, the resell value of a MY2013 will probably be $2K-3K more than a MY2012 after 5 years(Same exact option and same mileage)
