The only complaint I could make is that you can feel the turbo hit hard and then a second or 2 later you can feel the boost drop off. I love it though. I'm looking forward to stage 2 because this thing is already a beast! FYI, I have the 8-speed. If anyone is on the fence I'd say go for it!

I wonder if a DP would fix the boost drop off.

only a manual boost controller would do that with a strong Forge DV.

Is everyone using an aftermarket charge pipe? How important is an aftermarket charge pipe for a stage 1 tune?

No aftermarket CP available yet..... I did however just start to experience the rough cold starts. Almost like the car has a hard time starting like the starter isn't strong enough.

Alternatively you can get the BT Tool which lets you read codes via laptop from all modules on the vehicle.

Gains are 40-50hp and well worth the 5 minute install time.

Just to clarify, for the F30/N55 Stage 1 tune, there is only 1 map, correct?

Will Stage 2 essentially be the "full" JB4 with map switching a la PBX or will the full JB4 be following the stage 2 release?

Thanks

Waiting an answer to this question. Secondly, Will the JB stage 1 delete the CEL from installing catless DP?

Just to make sure before actually getting the JB.

I have the stage 1 JB for n55 f30, it is awesome and I love it. I also have the ER cat**** DP for the last 3 months working with the JB stage 1. They work well together and so far, after 8k Km, no CEL ever came up.

I will be getting JB stage 2 this week

I've been waiting for a month now for my MPPK with DME, but my order changed to August deivery date due to DME issues. Now, I'm thinking about getting JB4 stage 1 and AFE Cold air intake with air scoop. What do you guys think/

Is it official or the beta version? I also have a 335i in manual and have been waiting for the stage 2 for a while

The F30 is still in beta as far as I know. Haven't heard otherwise. It's been in beta awhile and many are running it without issue.

If I'm running a catless DP with jB4 stage 2, 91 octane, can I safely run map2? Or should I stick with map 1 because I'm using 91oct not 93oct

I'd ask someone from BMS, but someone asked about using 91 octane and a DP and terry told them to use map 1 over map 2 with that fuel.

+1. On the technical forums of BMS, there is a thread specifically for this issue. In it, it is clear map 2 needs 93 octane or higher

Just picked up a stage 1 from someone that had it on his 2012 535i and was wondering should I install the third connection to the boost solenoid (my car is a 9/13 build), how many are running with it connected with no problems.

You're not supposed to install that connection unless you're using Stage 2. As far as people who may be doing it? Not sure but I'd go with what BMS recommends.
