I'll give it a go later on.

I take it you mean remove 2VB from the FA and VO code the ECU's you mention? (Just for clarity)
yes, that is what I mean.

BOOM!!! Solved

Well done wibbles That was it

So remove 2VB from the FA and VO Code (I did it in the order they appear in Esys but I'm not sure that matters) DSC NBT ICM KOMBI

It still has an issue when you press reset but it sorts itself out and now says RPA Active and all the wheels on the display are green

Many thanks to InTheSound for the US / CAN workaround

You do get some warnings from the ABS and the DSC, while VO coding the DSC, on the dash and screen. Just ignore them. they disappear when you turn the car off and on.

Found this using token Masters CAFD tool which shows all modules affected by coding. The following is settings for RDC on :

FEM_01 > RemoteControl 30D0 > RC_RDC_ENABLE = aktiv

ICMQL > Daten 3000 > IcmKod_B_S2VBA = verbaut

DSC_CT01 > DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Funktion_RDCi_l = nicht_aktiv [Default]
DSC_CT01 > DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Funktion_RPA_e = nicht_aktiv
DSC_CT01 > DSC_CODIERDATEN_RPA_CONTI 3002 > C_RPA_Extra = nicht_aktiv

HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > RDC = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > RDC_DRUCK_TEMP = druck
HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > RDC_FORTSCHRITTSANZEIGE = nicht_aktiv [Default]
HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > REIFENUEBERWACHUNG_RDC_RPA = rdc
HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > RPA = nicht_aktiv

KOMBI L7_MID > ERM_Konfiguration 3004 > ST_TYR_RDC_ALIVE = aktiv
KOMBI L7_MID > ERM_Konfiguration 3004 > ST_TYR_RDC_TIMEOUT = aktiv
KOMBI L7_MID > FZG_Ausstattung 3003 > DSC_MIT_RPA = ohne_RPA [Default]

Sorry for the slight thread hijack...

I've just taken delivery of an F36 on lease, I've ordered a set of 19" wheels for it and rather than have to deal with the vdo tpms, I'd like to code it out like you have.

I have a few questions:

- Is it easy enough to backup the original settings and revert back to them once my lease ends? (Or when I need to service it)

- I've seen a few mentions of using Mac versions of the software, is it wise to use a Mac or would I be better of using windows?

Hi everyone, can you please advice? i had someone code my f30 2013 328i sedan with cic-high(NBT) navigation 8.8 screen in United States with your pdf instruction and no success. I got some error messages after coding as per instructions which cleared and the time erased. After doing the TPM reset on nav and after 15 miles driving a tpms error pops out (same as before the coding, i don't currently have the right tpms installed)
Is this coding supported for US cars? What might have been gone wrong?

The guy that coded the car advised to disconnect the RDC/TPMS module. Does anyone know it's location, or maybe a fuse that can be removed for disabling RDC ?

Guys it's really a brilliant work!!! Just wondering my car doesn't come with the TMPS system, can i code it with just BMW TMPS installed? Cause someone just told me that the reciever is already build-in and it's just the matter of coding. If this is not the case, can i install the 433MHz reciever by myself and code it? I already have the sensors in my wheels. Thank you.

I've previously performed FDL Coding for the ECU's. Will this VO Code drop my changes and reset to factory? :

If you have done any FDL coding on the DSC NBT ICM KOMBI ECU's then this will have to be done AFTER VO coding them.

Essentially, what you are doing is removing TMPS from the vehicle order and re-coding the appropriate ECU's to the factory default.

If you wish, you can FDL using the instructions from a previous post and avoid any changes you have made on the above ECU's (see below) BUT YOU MUST NOTE THE EXISTING SETTINGS SO YOU CAN RESET BACK TO TPMS

FEM_01 > RemoteControl 30D0 > RC_RDC_ENABLE = aktiv

ICMQL > Daten 3000 > IcmKod_B_S2VBA = verbaut

DSC_CT01 > DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Funktion_RDCi_l = nicht_aktiv [Default]
DSC_CT01 > DSC_CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN 3000 > C_Funktion_RPA_e = nicht_aktiv
DSC_CT01 > DSC_CODIERDATEN_RPA_CONTI 3002 > C_RPA_Extra = nicht_aktiv

HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > RDC = aktiv
HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > RDC_DRUCK_TEMP = druck
HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > RDC_FORTSCHRITTSANZEIGE = nicht_aktiv [Default]
HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > REIFENUEBERWACHUNG_RDC_RPA = rdc
HU_NBT_EVO > EXBOX 3001 > RPA = nicht_aktiv

KOMBI L7_MID > ERM_Konfiguration 3004 > ST_TYR_RDC_ALIVE = aktiv
KOMBI L7_MID > ERM_Konfiguration 3004 > ST_TYR_RDC_TIMEOUT = aktiv
KOMBI L7_MID > FZG_Ausstattung 3003 > DSC_MIT_RPA = ohne_RPA [Default]

It's necessary to remove fuse #132 found in the rear fuse box in the boot / trunk for US / CAN cars.

I'm not sure if there are differences between US and EU cars but the coding works on Canadian cars ok. I suggest you check the settings in the post above to make sure you have changed the coding or try doing it again.

Not sure John, you may have to inject a CAFD into the unit. Try adding 2TB to your vehicle order and VO code the ECU's. you never know??

We searched everywhere with the coder and we couldn't find any RPA values in any modules before or after removing the 2VB in US Cars
I guess only Canadian, European and other countries that have RDC (TPMS) as an option from factory may revert back to RPA (TPM)
For US F30 the only option from factory is RDC (TPMS)

Silly Question but did you VO code the ECU's after removing 2VB?

If that's the case it's worth noting for US cars.

I don't know the terminology but I think the coder did everythink right. i was getting dsc errors and some other errors on the nav screen. But before and after doing it, he couldn't find any rpa values through search bar or manual search in the modules. Thanks again for the list, it was easy to detect the fault.

Makes sense to me now. So, change VO first by removing 2VB. Then Code FDL all settings listed across ECUs. This method is additive to any other programming changes I've made in the relevant ECUs previously. Alternatively, Code ECUs and redo my other changes.

Thanks for all your help and contribution to the community.

You don't really need to alter the vehicle order if you are going to FDL code all the settings. This is only needed if you intend to VO code the ECU's to the default for that vehicle order.

The settings above are default settings if you do have TPMS valves installed. However, you will note that there are some settings that can be changed from RDC to RPA - the flat tyre monitor based on wheel diameter. These are the ones that need changing. Unfortunately, I can't run the tool to show the changes when you remove 2VB from the VO only what it changes when added.

I decided to code to default and all went as expected, except... RPA reset still hasn't completed (I drove around for about 20-25 min.).

Incidentally I performed a wheel swap prior to the coding and there seems to be a remaining TPMS Reset log in the iDrive Vehicle Info menu. I'm not sure how to clear it. In essence I'm trying an RPA Reset while the TPMS Reset had already been initiated prior to coding. Hard to tell if they would conflict? My previous 1 series would reset RPA within minutes of driving.

Anyone have thoughts on how to clear or cancel all resets so I might isolate?
