I replaced my 2003 Accord EX-V6 today...

After over 10 years with my Accord, I decided to finally join the BMW club with a 340i xDrive. After reading these forums for over a year, I knew that I needed the adaptive suspension with xDrive, so I went with the Track Handling Package.

Instead of ordering one, I decided to look for a 2016 to take advantage of the great residuals right now and I found this great Black Sapphire MSport with the Track Handling and the lovely orbit grey 18" wheels. Coral Red wasn't my first choice for the interior but it looks way better in person and it's really growing on me. I'm loving the combination of the adaptive suspension and the super sport tires, they help the car really grip on the curves.

I was going to wait for the 2017 to get CarPlay, but I needed a car now and I really wouldn't have been able to afford all these packages with the current residuals on the 2017s.

So far so good, but I can't wait to let the car stretch it's legs. Maybe I'll have to go to my local track. Current plans for mods, if you can call the mods, are floor mats, window tint and eventually winter tires.

Nice! The CR seems strong at first but soon enough it becomes pretty ordinary, but still cool. I don't think I will ever go with black interior again. Just has so much character and brightens up the car...but it all depends on your personality I suppose.

Gorgeous! The iDrive you have works so well once you're used to it, you likely won't miss the Car Play (I'm not sorry I didn't wait for it). Toss a memory stick full of your music into the USB and you'll be good.

Yeah, it warms up the cabin. The black felt a little sterile almost.

That was the best thing about it, it never broke! I don't know how it was so reliable. Hopefully I don't regret switching to BMW haha.

Check out the Pricing/Ordering Forum on here, there's a great deals thread where people have been posting. You can also check out Edmunds' Forums.

I just feel like the interaction with the phone is limited, but I may not be familiar with all the features yet. Is there a better way to get Spotify working? Is there some sort of app on the iDrive that works with Spotify?

I have never been fond or Coral Red but it looks great in that black exterior. Nice combo, I think I am jealous. Mine is the opposite kind of, Melborne red with black Dakota. We too came from the Japanese imports to our first Bimmer!

Great car and an equally great decision by buying an F30 xDrive with ZTR Track Handling Package. Any plans for getting a dedicated winter wheel / tire set?

Congrats, car looks really nice! I love the combo of the dark rims / body color and the red interior. Looks exotic!

I used to have a 6-speed manual 2006 Accord Coupe EX V6 as well and traded up to a 6-speed '14 328i. Ironically, my F30 has been more reliable than the Accord so far. The accord had the clutch master cylinder replaced 3 times in the first 3 years, a 3rd gear grind issue, and finally the engine died at 70k. Not to mention a ton of rattles. On paper, the 244 hp of the Accord seemed close to the 328i, but only on paper . I love my F30, and I'm sure you'll enjoy yours once you break her in.

Lease! The car would be a little too out of my price range to finance.

I was thinking about just doing winter tires only and swapping the current tires out. Any benefit to have a dedicated wheel/tire set?

The advantages is being able to leave each set of tires on the rims, being able to go down to 18's from 19's (if you have 19's, or 17's from 18's, whatever you have and will fit on your brakes) for the rougher winter roads, and keeping your primary (and likely more expensive) rims away from winter road salt and hazards.

As to your Spotify question, I'm not sure. I'm not fond of the sound quality from streaming services and I have a massive amount of music in my actual collection so I just go the memory stick route.

tight son. i went from a 2004 accord ex v6 6mt to 340 x drive 6mt recently also
the other big benefit of having dedicated winter rim is i ripped a hole in one of my rft last week and i was able to drive home and swap the front axle winter wheels back on so i could order the proper tire at my convenience
