2016 BSM 340i M Sport and Track pack. Here's all the factory options.





My philosophy when modding a car is making it how it should have been or could have been from the factory which is what I like to refer to as OEM+. Raise the power but nothing extreme, maintain comfort and amenities but be able to run a track day. Subtle and clean exterior modifications.

2/2/17 Drove 5 hours to pick her up. Don't have many outside pictures as it was raining and has been nasty. She also has some light swirls. Nothing a quick pass of the PC can't take care of and a nice fresh coat of wax when it warms up.

I am still using the stock M Sport suspension and have not used either, but my research so far shows that the H&R Sport rides rough and Dinan is the better of the two. I suggest ACS + Bilstein, Dinan, or KW.

Think youll be more than happy with the hr sport springs unless you financed the car, get some coilovers instead id go with the bilstein route.

Yea I bought the car. I currently enjoy the edc. I'm leaning towards the dinan springs and bumps. And I'll either get Bilstein damptronic shocks or if I decide to throw it down big I'll get the B16? Coilovers that are compatible with damptronic that they're working on

What are your thoughts on voiding the warranty with the performance mods? I'm ready for some bolt on mods (1st would be downpipe) but I really don't have the appetite to deal with a warranty issue if a problem were to arise. I know dealers can be a real pain in the ass about this topic.

As for suspension, I have H&R Sport on my F30 I feel like the ride is as comfortable as stock.

Well I have my hesitancies about voiding warranty. But I have done it on nearly every single vehicle I've ever had. I feel like BMS 's tuning is pretty safe/proven and outside of the motor having a weird failure there isn't too much risk. However it's gotta be a risk you're willing to take. There's always the chance you got a weak rod, bearing, valve or etc. And if you happen to be that unlucky fellow then you'll be out to dry if they can prove you've been tuned which they can from the overboost codes that get stored. Gotta pay to play.

That said I'm gonna push the car pretty hard over the next few months before I tune it to maybe expose any weak spots in my particular vehicle

I'm also fairly mechanically inclined and have had a significant hand in building over 10 engines in my short life this far.

However we have race gas at the pump at many of our stations around here. Usually before I drag or hpde I at least fill my cars half tank for a little more insurance from detonation due to high heat. Which I'll have meth on this car so it shouldn't be too much of an issue


If you are just doing Bolton's without a tune then I'd just swap the parts off before going to dealer. I do most maintenance myself and when I need anything else I go to a good Indy shop in the area.

It is not yet but with the kind of power you will be pushing i would not rule out a charge pipe upgrade

Hopefully the spoke design clears the M sport calipers. I haven't seen many wheels that don't provided they are correct fitment, which these are.

Got my grills today. Can confirm that a swift pull from outside towards the headlights will get the old grills out easily. I did break 1 tab of like 10 on each of the factory grills tho.
